Classic Gotleib in between games.
Why pay attention to our out of conference schedule 3 months ago with a 15-3 record in the tough Big East.
He was listing times we won and didn't look good while ignoring our solid wins against Louisville, Marquette, and ND.
Classic

question for those watching the Nova game. What's up with fischer? he has 0 points and only 1 attempted shot according to the ESPn game tracker. Is this true? Is he hurt? CBS box score says he only played 5 minutes, did he get injured in the game? Stokes was having a good game--and Reynolds had a nice 2nd Half. Jay Wright went to his "Reggie Redding" minutes--which are a complete disaster--and that kid plays for some reason--which I still don't understand watching Nova. Dwayne Anderson also played well for Nova today--so they went Anderson-Scotty-Stokes with Cunningham/Pena/Clark getting majority of minutes upfront.

they are going to deny and double down all day. GU has to hit the open ones to loosen it up for Roy. If they do, its no contest.

I couldn't take Gottleib after the SU/Nova game. I made a rather mean sign and stuck it on my tv to remind myself not to get worked up because of him, seeing as how I'm already home sick with a fever/cold.
Again, why did ESPN think it was a good idea to employ a convicted felon?

Aaron (Philadelphia): So now the Villanova crushed Syracuse, is Syracuse now eliminated and how many more games does Nova have to win to stay squarely on the bubble?
SportsNation Adam Rittenberg: (2:11 PM ET ) I think the Orange are done. Everyone knew what this game meant, and Syracuse fell apart down the stretch.

Miles, Oswego, NY: so, are the Orange out for sure now, or is there even the slightest hope?
SportsNation Mark Schlabach: (3:10 PM ET ) I'd be surprised if there is any hope left for Boeheim and the Orange. Probably the worst loss of the season in the last game. Not good. And not much of an argument this year, either.

Hmmm. Providence making a strong bid to become NIT-eligible. Could they pull this off and go for the season sweep against the Conn-victs? Now that would be outstanding!

The way Providence absolutely collapsed in the final minutes gave me flashbacks to the Hoyas of the 01-02 season. Is Welsh about to meet the same fate that befell a certain former coach now employed at the NYU Business school?

I know that this has been discussed in this thread, but who has time to read 6 pages?
I really don’t like any of our match-ups. Villanova has given us problems over the past two seasons, and if we’re lucky enough to get through them, we have UCONN awaiting the winner.
Repeating as Big East Tourney champs is going to be really difficult. If we get through to the championship game, we’ll surpass all my expectations.

I agree that UConn is a tough matchup for Georgetown, but I'm not 100% convinced they get to Friday.
(Oh, my GOD! Did he just say that??? Someone doubted Digger's favorite team, and - behind Louisville - the team that everyone thinks is the best team in the Big East??? Is he crazy or something???)
Well, national media slurping aside, it's not that I don't think UConn is a good team, but I think WVU is also a good team. Yes, they had their hands full today, but just ask UConn how tough Provvy can be, despite their dismal record (ask Georgetown, for that matter).
I'd put UConn's chances at making the semis at about 65-35, maybe 70-30 at most, but by no means do I think they are a lock to take out Huggy Bear.
And no, I am not posting this to dismiss Nova. The Hoyas will have to play well tomorrow, and not just defensively, if they want to move on themselves. I'm just saying that if the baskeball gods choose to shine their countenances upon our side tomorrow, I'm still not sure who the next opponent would be.

If Roy gets 15-20 good looks a game, I don't see us losing before San Antonio.
He's got to be a bit more selfish...not to the point that he's forcing the issue, but he's our best weapon, he's got to put us on his back and take us to the promised land.

Tomorrow's game will be a blowout in favor of the Hoyas. Roy's attitude and aggressiveness have continued to rise over the past few games. He has been waiting 11 months for this Big East tourney and the NCAA tourney to start. Look at what we have done at MSG over the past two years. It really won't be close.

I hate Crean. Just watching a good BET game can be distracting with this clown on the sidelines, screaming, and stalking like he's getting paid per step. Just sit/stand and watch the damn game. Geez.
This was a strange game--and no rhythm to it--Crean subs at weird times and acts like he's got to go 12 deep to prove some point. Most coaches shorten the bench or play to team's weakness--Crean just throws people in for sake of doing so--truly an odd man. I would love to beat him in the head repeatedly-but that might knock some sense into him. He has now reached a cartoon like stature--beyond "Creepy"--his TOM ARNOLD on COKE BINGE mannerisms are just so annoying. He is now Creepy Tom Arnold Crean.
For a 6/7 guard lineup--this team throws some serious crap up at the hoop a lot. Go Notre Dame. I can't believe I'm saying that--but I dont' want this circus near Friday Night in BET--no matter what happens to Hoyas. I just dislike this guy and his program. The way they carry themselves--you'd think they were undefeated in Big East and never have lost. Stomp them Irish!
