I think dTRAIN is right. IIRC, there are no lockers at Penn Station ever since 9/11. I think they may have a bag check, but it closes early. I checked my bag at the Affinia desk last year telling them I had checked out but was going to dinner before catching a cab to the airport.

Last year (or maybe two years ago) I definitely brought my backpack. Had to open it for security to look in, but I was allowed to bring it inside.

Yep - you can bring bags inside, but keep it as small as possible. Backpack shouldn't be any problem. Brought my "work bag" to GU/SJU as well as a half-dozen Rangers games this year.

I have finally recovered from Saturday and I am anxiously awaiting Thursday afternoon! I can't wait to celebrate another great season at Cafe 31.
I do not have any tickets either. I can echo the advice offered about buying on the street. I was given a summons to appear in court simply for asking someone how much they wanted. The other person was a student and an undercover cop simply overheard us talking.
Be very careful!

I also know that Hotel Pennsylvania will allow non-guests to drop bags off. You go into the main lobby and take the elevator down.

I checked the MSG website. They encourage fans to "travel light" and go on to say that bags are allowed so long as they fit under your seat.
Hotel Penn does have a bag check, which I have used before.

As much as I want to play the Cuse, I hope they lose to Nova and have to go to another NIT. That would be even funnier than actually beating them. Unfortunately, Marquette cr@pped the bed, thus giving SUcks hope for another week. If Cuse had lost to MU, then a win agaisnt Nova wouldn't do much, but I ahve to think if they beat Nova, they just might be able to inch their way in. And really, no one wants that. I want to play Cuse. They only play about 6 guys and if they get into an intense game against Nova they will be spent for our game.

Were I not a Hoya, I might feel a bit sorry for the Orange. There's no question in my mind that if they don't lose Rautins and Devendorf, they're dancing.
But since I'm a Hoya - screw 'em. Go Nova.

Except if you are the West Virginia mascot and they let you bring your musket in (I wish I had the link to that Times article about him not getting searched)

There is a place in PEnn Station to check luggage. I am pretty sure that place is affiliated with Amtrak and you now have to have a valid/open Amtrak ticket to use it.

There is a place in PEnn Station to check luggage. I am pretty sure that place is affiliated with Amtrak and you now have to have a valid/open Amtrak ticket to use it. Johnny Jones is right about that. I was assuming DoubleHoya was taking the train up from DC. the Hotels across the St. are probably the best bet. OR a small bag into MSG is probably OK. Also, Kruster had some scalper friend a couple years ago. Maybe he still does. Friday night is the tough one. IF you can buy tickets INSIDE MSG on Thursday, DO IT!

There is no easy route. I think UConn has the toughest route, with likely WVU, then us, then Ville. Or maybe it's Pitt, with a Wednesday game followed by Ville, then ND, then us. Or maybe it's Cusenova, playing each other, then us, then UConn, then Ville. I don't think Cusenova will be raising the trophy this year.

No free lunches in the Big East this year. Every game in this tournament will be a tough one.

On the west virginia note, can anyone with some knowledge of math explain why on rpiforecast.com westvirginia has the best odds of winning the big east tournament? 20.16% for them compared with 19.19% for us, 18.25% for Louisville, 8.99 for UConn, 9.11 for ND, and 15.66 for Marquette.

I'm pretty sure the only reason their odds are that high is because that is the chance that the mascot will go on a killing spree at half-time if WV is down. Thus killing the other teams and WV will get the trophy by default. But seriously...wtf?

I got my ticket for Thursday off StubHub. Would it be better to try to get Friday from StubHub also, or just try my luck in the arena on Thursday to buy Friday tickets? I always had student tickets so I've never had to do this. Thanks for everyone's advice on this thread. EDIT: Here's info on the new NY State scalping laws enacted June 07. Spitzer... ;D Late last week, New York Governor Eliot Spitzer signed legislation eliminating all pricing restrictions on the resale of tickets. The law does bar scalpers from operating within 1,500 feet of a large stadium or concert venue or within 500 feet of a smaller venue, such as a Broadway theater.
