ok, so i watch the show but have only recently started analyzing this thing...can anyone suggest "the" blog to read...or a couple of good ones... Personally, I've found Doc Jensen's post-episode recaps on ew.com to be the best blog out there in regards to Lost. He really draws out all the allusions and connections that are made. You can find them here: www.ew.com/ew/allabout/episodes/0,,20000067_20198844,00.html

The girls at The Washington Post do an OK job too. A little too much swooning over Sawyer & Alpert (how dare they!), but they're pretty funny, have a good dose of sarcasm, and don't take the whole thing too seriously. They know their allusions and cross-references pretty well too (though they make mistakes from time to time, they usually correct them pretty quickly).
Episode analysis followed by live chat each Friday. I don't have the URL, but just go to washingtonpost.com and search "Lost Central."

Evangeline Lilly was on Leno last night and she comes across as the goofy hot chick next door who maybe you had a shot with early in high school but then reached unattainable status pretty quickly.
I think she is the hottest on the show and her interview last night did nothing to sway me to the dark side (e.g. Claire). The only downside was when she seemed to be flirting with the foppish dandy second Leno guest who plays Prince Caspian in the new Narnia thingie.

She's a good looking gal, but no match for Claire in my book. Of course, that scene with Juliette in her bikini was nice...

Book of Laws is the Bah'ai faith bible.
What does anybody think of the theory that Ben and Locke are brothers. Their mother(s)'s name was Emily. Biblical ramifications if such is the case, with Benjamin being the son of Jacob, and if you change Locke's name from John to Joseph, and you have the brother Joseph being put into a pit by his brothers (shot by Benjamin). Like Boz, very confused.

possible but highly unlikely I think they intentionally drew parallels but the same mother, no i don't think so. It would have to imply that locke is considerably older then ben, since ben's mother died in childbirth and looked considerably older than the teenaged emily locke.
after rewatching cabin fever i think he was supposed to pick up the book of laws. It focuses on it after he picks the first two items and richard looks pleased when locke looks at the book.
Tonight's episode was great as always. We now know how jack learns he's related to claire. we see the oceanic 6's return to civilization, but we still don't know 1) why they're lying 2) how they really get off. we finally hear of the internet legend the orchid station. can't wait to see inside. this epsiode left many questions though, too many to go into now. more tomorrow.

Lot more interesting stuff tonight, no real "WTF?!?!?" moments but they've definitely got me ready for next week.
When Sun went to see her father and said the thing about 2 people caused her husband's death, it definitely seemed like Jin was legitimately dead. I've been holding out hope that he is still ok but now I'm not sure. If the truth is that he's on the island or something along those lines, I can't see Sun just sitting back and waiting. Maybe her father's company is connected to Widmore's though, somehow, and maybe that's the play she's looking to make.
The boat has got a ton of C4 on it, which I assume is what was hooked up to Keamy. If Keamy's heart stops beating, the freighter's gonna blow up, which is why last week the captain wouldn't shoot Keamy. Right now Michael, Desmond, and Jin-- 3 guys whose futures haven't really been discernable based on flash forwards-- are all looking at those explosives as Keamy and co. face a showdown with an unarmed but still dangerous Ben. I'm wondering if that stuff is going to explode and send the freighter into chaos? If it does who knows what could happen, because for instance Michael has tried to kill himself previously and it hasn't worked, and the island may still protect him. Will it protect Desmond? Jin? Presumably Sun would be protected, and presumably the other randoms that came on the raft wouldn't be. But if the boat blows up, how is Sun surviving with the baby? Maybe Jin does something heroic to save the two of them and dies in the process.
No idea how the O6 (currently in 4 different and very precarious positions) is going to get off the island and onto the plane they were seen on tonight. I guess that's supposed to be the big question going into next week. The bigger question though, for me, isn't why/how the O6 get off, but what happens to the other survivors, why is the O6 lying through their teeth, and why is Jack insisting they need to go back at the end of last season?
No idea how I'm going to wait 2 weeks. I expect the finale to resolve how the O6 come together and what happens to the other crash survivors ie why they aren't rescued as well. They MIGHT resolve the island moving thing but I doubt it. They always end the season with a huge cliffhanger, and I'd guess that this year that will occur when Locke finally gets inside the orchid and discovers some crazy stuff and moves the island in space or time.
Oh and about the Orchid, there's a video floating out there that I saw just this week, not sure when it was put out or by whom but it's the guy from the Dharma filmstrips clearly. Check it out if you don't mind being spoiled as to what the orchid station is all about:

Good recap, RB. Was going to say may of the same things. When you boil it down, nothing really happened last night... and the episode was still stellar. With two hours to work with next week, you just know Cuse/Lindoff were set to use this week to prep us for some fireworks next week.
A few points:
1 - Good to see someone else agrees with me on why Locke should have chosen the Book of Laws. Won't go into it more than I already have, except to say that I used to think Nevada's point about Locke and Ben being brothers has SOME traction. Locke born to a teenage mother on May 30, 1956, Ben born to a woman in her 30's on December 19 in the mid-60's... there's potential there.
But you have to remember... Locke gave his kidney to his con-man father, Anthony Cooper. Nevada you'd know better than I, but before that procedure wouldn't there have been a battery of tests to ensure the kidney was a match and that Cooper was in fact related to Locke? A bit more solid, it was an elder Emily Locke herself who played the role of match-maker in Cooper's original con to get Locke's kidney. While her intentions were obviously misguided, I've seen no evidence to refute the fact that older woman WAS Emily Locke and Cooper IS his father.
2 - FANTASTIC reappearance by Alpert and The Others. Good to see they're back in their "hunting" gear, fresh from The Temple... which we STILL have yet to see (not to mention the four-toed statue). The way Kate and Sayid were walking with them at the end it seemed as though they were willing travel companions. I'm sure whatever Ben told his counterpart with the mirror at the top of the mountain (I'm presuming an Other), I'm sure was relayed at least in part to Kate and Sayid
3 - Good point about how the O6 get back together, RB. Jack is with Sawyer, Hurley is at the Orchid Station, Kate and Sayid are with The Others, Sun and Aaron are on the freighter. This is going to get VERY interesting.
4 - I belive the Orchid film that's out there is from the Season 3 DVD's. I can't access YouTube at work, but is it the one with the cloned rabbit, RB? If so, that's the same one on the DVD's. That guy who's in the orientation films has gone by several names, but the one used in the Orchid Station film (Halliwax) was the name on the winter coat Ben was wearing when he woke up in the desert in Tunisa a few episodes ago. Food for thought...
The cliffhanger next week is going to be amazing. Season 1 left us with a blown-open Swan Station hatch, we see Smokie for (I think) the first time, and we're introduced to The Others for the first time.
Season 2 ended with Desmond's story leading up to his "incarceration" in Swan Station, the appearance of my favorite four-toed statue, the turning of the key to blow the station by Des, Michael leaving with Walt, and Ben revealing his true identity and The Others making off with Kate, Sawyer and Jack. Oh, and it is first revealed Penny (and now we know perhaps her father as well) is looking for Des.
Season 3 ended with Charlie's death and the revelation the freigher folk were bad guys ("Not Penny's Boat"), we have our first flashforward to a deranged Jack, Walt appeared to Locke who had just heard Jacob speak, and Jack calls the freigher folk in for rescue.
Should be great.

Who is due for an episode? I get the feeling the flashbacks/forwards will still be of the O6 as this is parts 2 and 3 of "There's No Place Like Home," but I don't think that's necessarily set in stone. The other times the producers have split up episodes, they have used different flashback/forward subjects. To wit:
"The Pilot" part 1 - Jack in the plane talking to Rose, the stewardess, etc. "The Pilot" part 2 - Charlie and Kate on the plane
"Exodus" part 1 - several characters in the airport before boarding 815 "Exodus" part 2 - remaining characters in the airport before boarding 815
Who knows. What I'm excited about is the season 4 premier. Thus far, every premier has introduced several new characters and three of the four (counting season 1) have occured in places we've never seen (1 - The Island, 2 - Swan Station with Des, 3 - Othersville).
EDIT: Oh yeah, due for an episode. Rose and Bernard, Claire and Sawyer are the only living Losties that haven't had an episode this season. If you want to stretch it, Walt, Aaron, Alpert, and Jacob are due as well.

A weak, but necessary, episode in my opinon. As has been noted, this week served mostly to set up the finale. As such, it was important and yes, issues to be addressed in the finale were brought to the fore.
(and take it easy, OK? When I say weak, I am speaking relatively. Sort of like The Two Towers, which was still great, but really only served as a bridge between the other two movies)
Anyway, no one's really surprised that all of the 6 lied through their teeth, right? I think everyone saw that coming. After all, how could they tell the truth? No big surprise there.
There's something about that Michelle Forbes though......even in a cameo she can pull of "bitch" and "sexy" together like no one else (except perhaps Linda Fiorentino, who is the undisputed champion of all time).
Actually, my favorite part of the whole night was that we finally got to see the numbers again! But why did Hurley drive the car (as noted in his first flash forward this season) when it had such bad juju on it?
I too like learning about new places on the island, so I am looking forward to Locke being in The Orchid, and hope we get an idea of what The Temple is like (though that's doubtful, since the Others seems to have left it for the battle).
Anyway, should be an outstanding season finale. I am probably the only person in the world who is glad that it won't happen for two weeks, since next Thursday, I'll be on a flight to Vegas and would have had to wait five days to see it -- and hope not to read anything about it during that time (which would have been futile).

What I'm most intrigued by is how the non-Oceanic 6 get separated. It seems like they're all in different places, and some (Jin, Michael, etc.) are already on the freighter, which I would think puts them closer to being rescued than Sayid or Jack. Desmond is also going to do something awesome in the finale. There's a reason that he stayed on that boat, so I think he has to do something instrumental in whatever ends up happening there. The more time Ben spends on screen, the less I know of what to make of him. He's a liar, and he's manipulative, but he's also the only character with any clue of what's going on.

I think that Keamy is going to die but that creates an interesting problem; when his pulse stops beating when does the bomb go off. For all we know it could go off before he actually dies or it could take an extra day for that to happen. Plus if the Orchid station has to do with altering time and space that could just screw up things even more

I predict that the cliff hanger for next season will be something with walt. either in person or in a "vision" by locke. i think they might also give some clues about where claire went and what her/jack's father is doing on the island.
It also seems that some how the O6 are going to be getting on that raft and that is how you get six (yeah that is basic but just figured i say it).
Now what ever is up with this island must be pretty f-ing awesome if the others are so hesitant to fight. They clearly out number and out gun Keamy's boys and have military-esque training. they also know the island better than anything. Why dont they just ambush Keamy's boys like they keep doing to the O6 and friends???
ps. ive given up coming up with theories of my own. I just want plot points and answers!!

RB, good explanation of what Keamy had on his arm and what the results of killing him would be (but how did he escape the smoke monster). Buff, the kidney is the rub in the Locke and Ben being brothers theory.
People are thinking Des will die. But I think he is still crucial for the whole show, and he was not on the Oceanic flight, so he would be in a different category than the Oceanic 6. I am wondering why they are lying too. Very curious.
And Boz give me a call when you are out in LV.
