Fantastic News! Had to think there was a connection between the facility and JT3's on-going commitment to the University. Ironic, I had just filled out this year's check for HHC this morning. I did it yesterday. I also share your amusement.

We better send out an all points bulletin concerning the whereabouts of LicHoya - page 3 and no Licanese to decipher - he is either very out of pocket or so overcome with joy that he cannot move.

I had an awful day at work, and I got home and read this. I don't even remember why I had a bad day at work anymore.
Congrats to GU and JTIII for making the deal happen. It's official: G'town basketball is back and here to stay for good. Hoya Saxa!

YES!!!!!
JT three, JT three, JT three!!! I knew we'd hear something good eventually ... but was starting to think it wouldn't happen until later rather than sooner. I'm glad that Coach and the University were able to work out an arrangement they can both live with. HOYA HOOPS ARE HERE TO STAY!

Easily the best thing to happen during my day. I am assuming that the deal is contingent on a hefty donation from his salary to facilities.

Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Second best news of the day. (I'll tell the best news of the day in a few weeks)
I like it better in here away from the ledge. It's a lot less scary.
Nice work everyone who wrote in. Nice work Pres. But most of all congratulations III. This is a very well deserved reward for years of hard work and dedication. I cannot wait to be at the opening of the Thompson Court at Thompson Fieldhouse!

Yesssss! Thank you Georgetown for erasing the pain of 13 hours of Government RFPs instantly!
The university came through in a huge way, and at the perfect time. Nothing to say but how happy I am that GU basketball will be so enjoyable for years to come!

After the extension stuff and the dumb Monroe article, I can't wait for the next installment in "I've Done No Research, But _______ Is Taking Too Long!" Next up: a missive against the 2007-08 season for not having started yet, to be followed in November with a screed wondering what took it so long.

Thompson spoke very briefly at the Georgetown Club of DC's coaches' reception. He said nothing about the contract, and instead he talked about how "antsy" he and the team are to start up full practices. Laughs came after his cautious reminder that "We still play in the Big East," the head of Georgetown Club of DC (most likely a robot-woman, considering her lack of ability to convey emotion) chirped, "Oh, we're sure that you'll get a few wins, coach;" to which JTIII quickly replied, "I'm not."
After his speech, I found myself wondering whether Boeheim or some other big time, self-involved coach could possibly have come off so humble when in charge of such a great program. I also found myself answering my question with a resounding, "No," and respecting JTIII all the more.

Was comes across as humble out of JTIII's mouth comes off as whiney out of Boeheim.
