Whoever quality recruits we land in 2018 will be a bonus. 2019 and 2020 will be when we have the top recruits lining up on the hilltop. PE and staff are definitely planting seeds for years 19 and 20.

This kinda stings, but I'm not worried at all about PE and the staff getting quality frontcourt help in 2018, 2019 and beyond to commit to Georgetown.

Lookin forward to PE and staff continuing to mend/build relationships with the local schools/aau programs. We've had alot of prospects visit on campus. We're on the final lists of some high quality recruits. I think the "lack" of the tough non-conference schedule is miniscule at this point in comparison to installing offense/defensive philosophies/game plan.I think the team will play with a chip this yr and assuming a jump with Mosley/Johnson...this team may be underestimated initially. Eager for the season! HoyaSaxa

Hard to distinguish the "fans" from the true fans of the team. No coach in the country has the NBA pedigee as a former player that these recruits dream about more than Coach Ewing. The staff has reached out to local aau teams, invited whole teams, local players on campus and will continue to. "Fans" are now ripping the schedule. Remember when we got blown out by wisconsin and oklahoma st last yr on national tv(espn)..and we were supposed to good then. Expectations are "low" this yr and now "fans" are complaining because our schedule may not be tough. Smh. Give Coach Ewing the chance to fulfill his vision and support the team. Quit throwing shade.

Very insightful article. The process of reaching and mending relationships with the DMV and AAU coaches will continue. Alot of recruits have us on their final list. PE and the staff are definitely on the recruiting trail. Based on the interest alot of recruits have us...this 2018 class has a chance to be better than some have anticipated. Give PE and the staff time but we are trending up. In 2years when we're rolling again, all the skepticism by some, will cease

Not being in his final 6 hurts..but the staff has alot prospects interested in us. Local relationships with schools/aau schools will continue to be rebuilt. We gotta stop Xavier, Notre Dame, Miami and Providence from poaching the DMV.

Really glad we got McCormick on campus with Pat. Whether Govan leaves after this season or not we're gonna need a big in this 2018 class. McCormick is the highest rated big man (va) closest to us. It would do us alot of good if we continue to make him a high priority especially given the proximity.

PE and staff spent time with Leblanc and McCormick today. The staff has cast a WIDE net and we've got mutual interest from alot of prospects. Ewing himself said "Rome wasn't built in a day" but he and the staff have definitely taken the steps towards that. I think it's important we get Xavier Johnson on campus before his 1st official visit to let him know he is a priority.

The visit means nothing - he's been on campus dozens of times I don't think we are even in his top 7 if he were to release one. I think its reasonably fair to say we'll be in his top 7. We have as great a chance as any of his other choices and should respectfully leave it at that. Let the process take its course.

...think when Pickett chose us over Maryland it brought some optimism back into the program for fans. Years from now we may look back and say this was when the Hoya Resurgence began.

Like the way the program has reached out to local aau teams, local recruits/prospects and inviting them to the campus/facilities. That "mending" process is beginning. We have alot to offer local talent right in our backyard.

Texas just landed a commitment from a highly ranked 4 star sf. Thats two talented players they recent landed that play the same position as Keldon on the roster while he's there. Can't hurt our chances considering they're the supposed front runner. should help us a great honestly... Recruiting is a cutthroat game. Hopefully this reinforces the notion to Keldon that we really want him. I consider this good news for our chances

The fact he only has one local school listed in his Top 6 may be a sign he would really like to leave the DMV area. Kids want to get away from home too, and it is a valid reason for him choosing another school over Georgetown. I am not sure how anyone can judge Ewing before his coached team even takes the court? As was written in another thread, the recruits do not even know what style the Hoyas will be playing. Until they see for themselves how they could fit into Ewing's system, I do not blame any recruit for keeping their options open or choosing elsewhere. Also, Ewing landed a pretty big get in Pickett, beating UMCP was impressive. I do think the fact he has no prior "game style" to draw from can be spun as a positive. He can adapt his "style" to tailor the strengths of these recruits. Versus having a game style that requires recruits have to adapt to him. Purely from the recruiting angle.

We've got a couple powerhouse recruits coming starting tomorrow with Leblanc and Mccormick sometime this weekend. I trust the staff to outline an overall vision for each recruit and how they will be maximized. Sell the city DC/TV exposure/academic reputation/top notch facilities and we'll definitely have a chance when the final decision has to come.

I like we're getting the 1st visit. Hope the Staff presents a comprehensive basketball plan for him as well as the program. The city of DC, facilities, academic reputation. Sell him on the fact he'll be coached a HOF NBA/College Player who has been to where he's trying to go(not many coaches in the country can tout that)...and to be a part of the Hoya Resurgence.

Well, it is a bit more complicated than that, but I understand the sentiments. Yeah those "complications" concern me too. We're gonna have to earn it. I worry about Creighton too. But I trust that the staff knows how important getting XJ means for the area/school/dynamics. It won't be easy...

Gonna be an interesting and anxious Fall waiting on all these young men who have the Hoyas on their final list. Hopefully one commitment will open the gates. Yeah it is...we have alot potential possibilities. Hopefully they feel the urgency to commit to us sooner to get their spot.
