Buff can take this back when he returns to the board, but I haven't seen him around here in a little bit so let's have a rip at it.
Hoyas 68 Tulane 57

I'll throw this in here. Fran Fraschilla for his blog picked 10 individual matchups he can't wait to see this season. The relevant part for us...
Greg Monroe (Georgetown) vs. Luke Harangody (Notre Dame) Although they both play center for their respective teams, neither one of these guys is your classic back-to-the-basket pivot man. But both will have to have dominant seasons to give their teams a chance to get back to the NCAA tournament after missing out last season.
Harangody is like a knuckleball pitcher, keeping defenses off balance with quick-release jump hooks and an improved shooting touch from outside. He averaged 23 points and 12 rebounds last season, making him the only player in the country to finish in the top 10 in both scoring and rebounding.
On the other hand, Monroe's strength is his mobility and versatility for a player who is 6-10. His monster game against Hasheem Thabeet and UConn last December looked like the beginning of a dominant freshman season. Instead, the Hoyas ended up 2-6 in games in which he took 10 or more shots. He will need to become a bigger scoring threat as a sophomore.

Meh. Beats losing to LeMoyne on your home floor in an actual game while accomplishing the same purpose (identifying what works well and what needs work). The score in controlled scrimmages such as these is basically meaningless. This is the kind of tail-between-your-legs apologist that kept Esh employed for so long. Results like these are entirely unacceptable!

Loooove AI, but this is just a terrible fit for him. He's nearing the end of his career and has stated in no uncertain terms that he wants a championship. He's obviously not good enough anymore to carry a team to that level in the NBA, but what he presumably can do is provide a potent scoring punch to a contender who needs a pure scorer. Memphis is basically made up of pure scorers who add little else, including a young face of the franchise who plays his exact position! (OJ Mayo) So this seemed doomed from the start. The problem for the Answer from my perspective is that shouting about how you're "not a 6th man" greatly reduces your chances of being traded to a contender near the deadline.

downside of being the oldest living law student - property exam the next day. Write a thesis on why MSG is our house.

2 National Championships. That's what we should be shooting for this season.

If AI keeps playing like that, he WILL be starting. Not like he's trying to make the line-up for the Boston Celtics.

I agree. It would appear at first glance that Boeheim was thoroughly outcoached in this one.

No shame in losing to a powerhouse like Le Moyne at home.

I really hope we're not starting Nikita. Don't get me wrong, I love the guy, but talent wins basketball games and he's not as talented as Clark or from what I understand, Hollis.

If the GOP is unwilling to back moderate candidates in the northeast, they must not care much about winning. The Democrats engineered their dominant takeover of both houses by backing moderates and conservatives in the south and other areas where a liberal would not have run well. I'm delighted to see that the Republicans failed to learn the lesson of the last election cycle.

OKC looking good so far - Green, Durant, Westbrook, Harden is a rock solid nucleus. If they can upgrade a few of these journeymen centers for a huge guy that loves to defend/board and doesnt want to score they they can be a legit threat in the coming years. Like Tyson Chandler?
