I hate to say it, because I do think Greg is a phenomenal talent, but it's a bit misleading to just look at the stats and say he "deserves better access to the ball." And I'm not knocking the system either. Fact is that Greg GOT the ball many times that he chose not to shoot it but to make an ill-advised pass. Hopefully he'll be more assertive this year. Maybe the system will deny him as many shots as he might get elsewhere, but he didn't even take advantage of the opportunities that he had to put the ball in the bucket.

When the system is successful, we get FOUR or FIVE players in double figures. It works if the open man can hit his shot. Greg was a freshman last year and had trouble adjusting to the double team in the high post. Look for III to put him down low more than last year, just like he did with Roy.- Roy our last first rounder- Greg our next first rounder.

I agree 100% with DeCourcey's statement. Monroe should be shooting significantly more than anybody else on the team. If Wright or Freeman are taking more shots than Monroe this year, that's unlikely to be a good thing for the team. I'm worried based on what I've seen from Wright so far in his career, that Monroe won't be the guy taking the most shots.

From my experience, there is typically the most improvement between the freshman and sophomore seasons. If that holds true for Greg, then I expect really big things from him this year.

According to KenPom, 23.3% of the Hoyas' possessions ended with Greg (meaning, I believe, he shot the ball, turned it over or had an assist), behind only Dajuan. He took 20.8% of the Hoyas shots, 4th, behind Dajuan, Austin and Chris (in that order).
As a point of comparison, Jeff ended 24.9% of the Hoyas' possessions in 2007 and took 25.2% of the Hoyas' shots that year, the most in both categories. Roy lead the team in 2008 with 26.1% of the Hoyas' possessions and 25.9% of the shots. Neither of them were in the top 200 players in either statistic. I would hope that Greg starts being more assertive this year (to the point where his numbers look like Jeff/Roy's), but the Princeton is a balanced system, and the Hoyas' have a lot of talent, so I would be surprised to see him use more than a quarter of the teams' possessions or shots.

www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/story/12326673Parrish's All american teams Monroe only listed as one of the next 30 considered. He's definitely better than Booker of clemson. Who really cares Parrish is schmuck anyway, but it's something to talk about.

Then they name 5 nonconference games to watch, and they name WV/Purdue and UConn/MIchigan, but no Gtown/DUke? That was straight GARBAGE. Thanks and good night!
