Dear NYCalumn
I understand your frustration. We are neither greeks, jerks, idiots or bozos.
We are making a serious effort to help make this program work. If you don't wish to participate in finding solutions, that's okay, but don't poison everyone else.
As a parent of a current Hoya football player, I certainly understand what our sons are going through. In high school, most of the current roster came from winning programs, it is not easy for these young men to be get beat, and sometimes beat badly.
The GU Football Parents Association is hoping to make a difference. If you don't want to be part of the solution, so be it, but please don't undermine the effort.
You can criticize the program all you want, but discouraging others who want to support the program so that GU football can be a success in the future is just dead wrong.

BCEAGLE IS RIGHT, IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY. COME ON GUYS. 245 PEOPLE HAVE READ THIS THREAD, ONLY 3 HAVE COMMITTED. IF EVERYONE GAVE $ 100., THAT'S $ 24,500. I COMMITTED $ 1,000.
LET'S SHOW MUIR AND KELLY HOW MUCH WE CARE AND WANT SUCCESS. WOULDN'T IT BE NICE TO PRESENT A CHECK FOR $ 50,000. ON SENIOR DAY TO DEMONSTRATE OUR SUPPORT FOR THE PROGRAM.

98hoya, great idea. I'm in for $ 1,000., win or lose.
Please allocate my donation, $ 500 to the Gridiron Club toward football operating expenses, and $ 500 toward MSF.
I'd be pleased to call Mr. Clinton, anyone have his number. He may be spending some time in Washington over the next 8 years, probably looking for something to do.

Okay, let's connect the dots. Several weeks ago an article appeared in the New York Times concerning the GU football program and the upgrading of the athletic facilities. Last week, the MSF upgrade, the new basketball and athletic center and the new science center were approved by the community board.
Do you really think that Mr. Muir and the university would go out on a limb if they weren't confident with respect to the funding for these projects? When the university is ready, the t's have been crossed, and the i's have been doted, I trust the university will make their announcement.
There's a process, let it take its course.

There is nothing wrong with constructive criticism. However, to recylce the same stuff week after week is not constructive. We are not, and never will be Notre Dame.
We are playing the hand we were dealt, the additional resources are on the way to make the football program competitive with the other teams in the Patriot League. Be patient.

Okay guys. Your passion and commitment to GU football is admirable. Let's keep in mind that this website is available to everyone, including new recruits, their parents and their coaches.
Let's not make the recruiting task more difficult than it already may be.
The funding for Multi Sport, the new basketball practice facility and athletic center, and funding to support student athletes is on the horizon. Be patient, could be an announcement as soon as December 2007.
Kevin Kelly is the right guy. With proper resources, the football program has the opportunity to florish.
Two games remain, let's be positive and look toward the future.
GO HOYAS!!!!
