A question I've been meaning to ask. So is Jason gonna come in as a 1 or 2?? I see him as more of a point guard. But in the GU system it does not matter much. 1 and 2 are basically interchangeable

I will take those 3 in 09 and call it a day(LOL). Hey id, now you understand why I might save those 2 extra schollies from 08 if Monroe does not commit. The 09 class is off the charts, and GU is in High with all of these kids. That is not even including Judge, Mcdonald... Reik looks like Diop's "little" brother. Armwood's game is really growing. He is developing into a player, not just an athlete. It will be interesting to see if it will be Armwood or Judge that will be the better prospect.

Per Rivals:
"Every time we've seen Jason Clark this year, he gets better and better. Playing more of the point here at the NBA camp, the long-armed 6-foot-4 guard is effective at what he does. He won't wow anyone with great speed or great burst but he is a cerebral player that values the ball. He'll be a perfect fit for Georgetown. "

I have seen a lot of McDonald, but never this Hall kid. If he was invited to the Festival in Colorado, then I'm sure he will be an elite player in the 09 class.

per Rivals: "Class of 2009 shooting guard Dominic Cheek shined the brightest as a big time perimeter threat on the AAU circuit. At the camp, the rail thin 6-foot-5 guard is doing more to get to the basket and challenging players at the rim. He's showing more toughness and diversity to his already skilled offensive game."

Is it safe to say GU is shopping for wings in 09? Bigs in 08 and wings in 09. Yep. 09 is a much more talented class as far as wings. 08 has good PF types. Although a 7'2 prospect like John Reik, would change the pecking order. 09 is a much better class over all. The tough thing is that at best there are probably 2 schollies for 09.

yep, I listed those guys in the Cheek thread. I think most of those guys are on the watch list. Now that coaches can call players, recruiting will get very interesting. GU is in on so many bigtime players. The 08 targets are set, Monroe, Dunigan...But They will be busy with all of the studs in the 09 class.

Top SG from Texas had a strong showing at the Nike this weekend. He is also transferring to a HS on the east coast for his JR and SR years.

Good that GU is playing a lot of OOC games in the south over the next 4 years. The states if Texas and Tenn are loaded with great wings for 09 that GU is in on.

What better place than big man u! Chuck would you compare him to Solomon Alibi the 7'1 kid going to FSU this year? I saw him at NBAPA Top 100 Camp last year. I did not pay much attention to Alibi.

Then he'll be a top 5 draft pick cause diop was wasn't he? I think Diop went around 8 to the Cavs. He was one of the biggest reaches in NBA history. All hype and size out of Oak Hill. He never should have gone that hi. Diop should have gone to college, because he would be a much better pro now. Reik is just learning the game, and needs the time in HS and college to really develop. Reik is already a good rebounder and shot blocker. He is very active.

I think we will know about Reik by the end of the summer. The little I have seen, he reminds me of a more athletic Diop(Dallas Mavs Center).

Reik has to be a beast then cause I would rather get Monroe and Dunigan. Don't forget that GU is in final two for Morgan also. Still think he'll end up at KU, but Hoyas are there. ? is are bigs more important in '08 than wings are for '09? Equal? I know you shouldn't compare recruits, especially at diff positions, but are the bigs GU is after in '08 better than the wings they're after in '09? Great question. That is why JT3 gets paid the big bucks(should get paid the big bucks). I think I would take Dunigan. The question is would we want guys like Morgan and Goode over Reik and the 09 wings...

rdf is right. monroe is priority 1,2, & 3. do we have any idea on what monroes decision timeline is like? next spring. He will take his visits, and take his time. He will narrow his list after the summer. I'd expect his final five will be GU, LSU, Duke, L'ville, and either Kansas, USC, or Texas.

good points RDF. To be honest, the 09 class is much better than the 08 class. So if GU can get and early commit from a guy like Reik. Then I would not mind if they just went after Monroe for 08. If Monroe commits elsewhere then just take the 3 commits(Clark, Braswell, Sims), and go after all of the great players GU is in on in 09. That would make us thin on the front line though, just like we will be this coming season.

yeah, Humphrey is solid, but not worth offering a schollie to get Dunigan. THis is a quote from Humprhey:
"Matt is adamant that he and Chicago Farragut senior-to-be Mike Dunigan want to sign with the same school. Humphrey and Dunigan, a highly rated center who attended the Shootout even though Farragut wasn't in the field, have been friends since the fifth grade.
"We started this thing together, why not finish it?" Matt Humphrey said."
