Serious question: has there been an African-American coach who has survived a major recruiting/pay-for-play or academic scandal the way Bill Self or Will Wade have so far? Or the way Jim Boeheim did? Or who got another high profile job quickly the way Bruce Pearl did? Part of the problem is obviously that there are so few African-American coaches in the first place, but I can't think of any examples.

No more first years to start the year at least.

Now there's a proposal to move the basketball season up a couple of weeks. Still think they'll have to go the other way. They could try to start the season in January (when hopefully there is a treatment at least) and then do a "May Madness" or something. Since the start of the NBA season is going to be delayed next year too, there shouldn't be a conflict with the NBA playoffs. We'll see, I guess. www.si.com/college/2020/07/06/ncaa-asks-conferences-to-start-season-early

Been wondering about this for a bit - it doesn't sound like any form of sport will be taking place in front of an audience, at least until Fall 2021. I'm sure the college basketball season and possibly in-person college is up in the air for 2020-2021, but in the case that there still is college and there is college basketball .... Is there any reason why Georgetown couldn't play 2020/2021 at McDonough? If capacity isn't an issue, why not? Georgetown has a long term deal with Monumental Sports and Monumental isn't letting Georgetown out if it. The other factor is true as well: Georgetown can't support major college basketball at a downsized McDonough. Period. Are we sure Georgetown doesn’t have some kind of insurance that would cover this?

ACC just shut down. There is no way this game should have been played, and no way we would ever be able to complete the tournament on Saturday. Somebody walk out there and pull the plug. Now.

Seriously, they can't let this game start. It's not going to finish.

That's got to be it for college basketball this season.

Big Ten Tournament follows. Good luck to everyone tonight, and hopefully we're playing tomorrow. But I don't see how there are going to be fans in the stands.

If there's anyone else like me who has canceled their plans to go to the Big East Tournament because of the virus, I just got an email from the ticket office saying that they are offering refunds to those who bought tickets through Georgetown if you email the ticket office by 9am tomorrow. I was going to bring my mom up there, and that just seemed insane now. So I'm really appreciative that they've offered this. Was basically going to have to eat the cost of the tickets otherwise.

Pretty sure we'd have to win two this week to be considered.

It’s a bizarre year, and we’ll have nothing tangible to show for it. But I hope there’s some way to commemorate the effort we got this year from the 6 guys left. Amazing.

On the FOX post game, I believe they said there were rumors is was plantar fascitis (unless I am remembering it wrong). But I know Ewing said it was a matter of pain tolerance for both Mac and Yurtseven.

If you’re local, it’s on MASN2 at midnight. Ugh, thanks for the info. I am local but out of town this weekend. Was hoping it’d be on replay some time tomorrow afternoon or evening. Need to figure out a DVR situation for solely streaming Off the innernet Checking the guide, it looks like MASN2 is also going to replay the game Monday morning at 2am. Unless they just forget and show an infomercial instead, I guess. But I assume it’s worth a shot on the DVR.

Does anyone know when this will be replayed on the fox network of channels? I saw the first half but couldn’t see any of the 2nd except the last 30 seconds. Really want to see how everyone came up big and especially BIG TIMMY If you’re local, it’s on MASN2 at midnight.

I have no idea how the hell I saw what I just saw, but what an effort.

Ordinarily I’d agree that it doesn’t really matter who starts. But digging a double digit hole at the beginning of every game has become a pretty massive problem. Just not sure what the solution is.

Under the circumstances, that’s about as good as it gets. What an effort, and that’s the best atmosphere at a game in so long.

Considering this was basically our first tight game since Greensboro, I’m so happy with how we closed it out. Not to mention having two starters with the flu. Survive and advance. We’re not finished yet.

Might as well get punched in the mouth now. Every game in the Big East is going to be a fight. We’ve got a measuring stick as to how much tougher we’re going to have to be.

There have been plenty of games with less hope than this, but I can't ever recall a game where we were this thin. Basically, we've got a starting 5 plus whatever Wahab can give before he fouls out. Go zone and hope for the best, I guess. Hope this is one of those nights where Providence can't shoot. And those nights aren't exactly rare.
