I am also hyped every year, but I'm not an active poster on the Board - usually only come here to checking out recruiting info, news updates and game recaps. I rarely post here, but I still check every day without signing in.
As a New Yorker, still don't miss our games in MSG (preseason, SJU and BET), and try to get to another road game and one home game a year. Fun now to pass along my enthusiasm to my pre-teen and teenage daughters.
Of course I wish Agau hadn't gotten hurt, but I'm quite optimistic about this season.

Thank you for this. My heart still beats fast watching this. From the moment where the 10 point come back began... I'm still Editeded I lost this game on my DVR when I moved four years ago. Probably watched the second half and OT about 20 times b/w '07 and '11 (usually after my wife and kids went to bed and I had had a few cocktails....). Still probably the most memorable live sporting event I have attended.

Will any of the games be streamed online or on TV? My friend in Crete sent me this link for the games: www.youtube.com/FIBAI tasked him with reporting on LJ, as he and his son will be going to the games - at least the games with Greece in them. Wish I were able to use those first four words in a sentence, Nevada.....

Absurd that Holtmann didn't win Coach of the Year.

Kevin O'Neil just picked DePaul to win tonight and tomorrow night. . .against us. And that's why he's no longer coaching. Let's take care of business. It's winning time. Kevin O'Neill also said Lavin was the Big East Coach of the Year.

Thank you, centercourt - I said something much more quickly and less eloquently than you did to my 14 year-old daughter this morning (by the time I got home last night she was in bed, and because she wanted to watch the game with me I re-watched most of it this morning). That game was a ride, alright.
Of course, being 14, the first thing she said when we started watching was "What did DSR do to his hair?"

SJU. I want the 2/3 seed in the BET.

For those who know more about hoops than I do - why does Hop get stuffed so often? Is his move/rise to the basket too deliberate? Does he fail to protect the ball with his body? Is he too mechanical - fails to adjust even slightly in the air when contact appears inevitable?
I apologize if this has been talked about elsewhere.

My abbreviated holiday party will prevent me from getting home to watch this game live, and not sure I want to wait for DVR viewing for this matchup.
Are there still NYC Gamewatch events around (like Village Pourhouse used to host)?

I love me some DSR.
MCI did a great job summarizing, but the way the guy finishes through contact, and his body control to have such success on his pull-up jumper no matter what preceded it, is special to me. Looking forward to another two years of it.

It may take me a bit longer to indoctrinate her as a Rush fan, Biff.

My thirteen year-old daughter won "Camper of the Week" at her first day of basketball camp yesterday, and she got to pick from a pair of mini-basketballs as prizes.
One was a Duke ball, the other was a Syracuse ball.
My daughter didn't even hesitate - said "No thanks".
A very proud moment for FHillsNYHoya.

I very much remember attending this game. Sat behind the basket essentially with a few rows of Starbury's Coney Island crew. We were giving them the business about how AI was so much better. Lots of friendly banter.
Would be nice to be 25 again...

Today was not just player development. In the second half we needed our best five players on the court whenever possible. We didnt do that.
Please play freshmen in the frontcourt next year. Even if we are always playing w three guards on the floor.

You will certainly see FHills, JohnnyJones and dTRAIN........Café 31 and Section 102
First Tournament was '89 (our freshman year). Don't think I've missed a GU game in the BET since about '93. Of course, to make up for it, I watched Othella and company lose to Minnesota in the NIT Final at MSG that year - when Kevin Millen took our last shot. Good times, indeed...

What about the O/U on the number of times we fly out at a 3 point shooter?

I had thought that Norm Chad (now ESPN's WSOP color shtick extraordinaire) had originated the Bandwagon - does anyone remember Le Grand Bus de les Boullez?
