This is a great opportunity for LJ. I hope he does well and opens some eyes. Hopefully Cooley will have some influence in keeping the BE kids on the final roster.

He won't make the team. The form on his jump shot stinks. On Edit: for those of you who don't peruse all of the sub-forums, here is what my post was referring to: Lol he has better length/athleticism for his position than Ike does. He's a two with great length and great athleticism. Ike is a great athlete, but his length is only (below) average for his position. Don't forget he has a 6'10" wingspan....that's shorter than Austin's I disagree. Peak needs to completely overhaul his jumper to even be considered a 2, and even as a 2 his size and athleticism is average for an NBA 2. Watching Copeland and Peak last year, I think Copeland showed he was a better leaper and quicker getting off the ground than Peak. I also think Peak put on some weight since he graduated HS, which made him look less quick and explosive than he was in HS. How many college 3s have the size and athleticism of Copeland? Very few do, while Peak went up against a lot of 2s who could match his size and athleticism, and IMO that's why he struggled sometimes outside of the first and last games.

Very excited at the honor for LJ and the program. I am sure LJ will show his skills and be an asset to US BBall, whether he makes the team or not. Well done LJ.
And I finally blocked a user - just too damned much negativity from some people. Can't say I will miss you, but it was a major step after dealing with all sorts of negativity since the 90s, so it feels odd to finally make the move.

What does not liking the form on his jumper have to do with him trying out for this team? So do you think having very little rotation on your jumper is a good thing? Or perhaps you think shooting 24% from 3 is the sign of a good shooter? I was simply saying at this particular stage I believe Copeland is the better NBA prospect than Peak, and that LJ has a few things to work on before he can be an NBA prospect. For the record, I really like LJ. I liked him coming out of HS, and I thought overall he did pretty well for a freshman making the transition to high-major college BB. IMO, I think he needs to work on his jumper and conditioning in order to make a big leap forward in his production. He has the talent, and I believe he will improve those areas and have a breakout sophomore year.

Are the Team USA/U-19 tryouts open to the public? Wouldn't mind showing Peak some support and see the future of USA Basketball.

Adam Zagoria tweeted about 2 hours ago that he is hearing that Peak is playing well. Listed 5 others as well. Great to hear.

LJ looks to be even leaner than he was at the beginning of his freshman season. Keep working, LJ!
