My thirteen year-old daughter won "Camper of the Week" at her first day of basketball camp yesterday, and she got to pick from a pair of mini-basketballs as prizes.
One was a Duke ball, the other was a Syracuse ball.
My daughter didn't even hesitate - said "No thanks".
A very proud moment for FHillsNYHoya.

If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.
Well done. Well done, sir.

It may take me a bit longer to indoctrinate her as a Rush fan, Biff.

We need to get that young lady a Georgetown ball pronto. She's earned it. Maybe a jersey as well.

I think the full lyrics of the chorus are appropriate here.
"Teach your children well, Their father's hell did slowly go by, And feed them on your dreams The one they picked, the one you'll know by."
I have never been prouder of somebody else's daughter.

Obviously you're a great father and raised your daughter well but what kind of 2nd bush league basketball camp is she attending?

My first nominee for 2014 HoyaTalk Father of the Year... I would agree that FHillsNYHoya is the leading candidate for Father of the Year, but I would add his bonny lass has already secured -- in an absolute Landslide - the award for Daughter of the Year! Well done FHills!

Great story. When my daughter was five, we were at Verizon for a loss to Syracuse. Upset about the loss and by some obnoxious Cuse fans sitting near us, she started to cry. My parents were with us and my mom went to the classic grandparent soothing technique- offering candy. My daughter took a look at the Reese's Cups and proclaimed, "I don't want those...they are orange!"

Obnoxious Cuse fans? In my Jack Nicholson voice, "Is there any other kind?"

Daughter Rooter, on the other hand, would probably look at the Syracuse ball and say, "Aren't they Georgetown's rival? I'll take that one!"
