Still smiling 4 hours later! Playing a team we already beat once this year, will be tough especially third game in three days, but we have some shooters who have not had their best BET games yet.

It’s been a long time since GU played in the semis of anything. Feels good.
And Dante! Yeah, wow! Very large stones.
Love what Donnie Marshall was saying after - that game literally changes his trajectory. He’s right. When that happens in the BET, against the 1 seed, 3-time defending champion during your frosh year?!?! Yeah, he wakes up trw a different kid in terms of confidence. There is now ZERO question that he belongs.
And just ecstatic for Pat. Big win for him.

Funny you say that - I was at the GU/ND and GU/IU soccer games. I meant hoops, yeah.

Rewatching from 10 minute mark through the end. Comments:
- we handled the jump-stop in the lane so much better today. - defensive intensity was really there - Lead was 11 with 9 left - Carey with the 3 - Jamorko with a big rebound and was fouled & converts 2 - Bile fouled out when we were down by 6 - Holloway entered with 7 minutes left when we were down 7 - wahab draws a foul under the offensive backboard and makes 2 ft - Collin’s defensive pressure helps cause a travel under the hoop by JRE - next possession, Collin doing a great job defending larger JRE - Harris with a 3 from wing - Blair with a deep 3 / Hoyas lead by 1 - Difference in the game was made and missed FT - Offensive movement was really good the final 10 minutes - Ball was really moving too - Down 5 with 70 seconds left - Dante drives and gets a foul and converts - Pickett again plays great defense on a jump-stop - Blair finds Q under the basket for a dunk and foul

Ewing yells rebound before Dante’s first FT on a 2 shot foul....lol.
Must be anxiety related.

Still waiting to get home and watch the game. So happy for coach and kids. They deserve this after a long couple of years.

Nova missed 8 FT excluding the lost front end on 1 and 1s. JRE missed 6 of those.

As a Villanova Alum, congrats to the Hoyas on a great game. Hard to beat a talented team 3 times in one season, especially with a key senior point guard out. Coach Ewing has your team peaking at the right time. Good luck the rest of the way!

My only hope is that we aren't so high after this game that we can't regroup for Seton Hall. Its hard to hear how great you are for 24 hrs and keep your focus. Especially considering the fatigue that will set in from playing the 3rd game in 3 days. Hopefully the days of this group not being able to handle success are over. Go Hoyas!! I'm proud of the guys, let's hope they aren't satisfied, we certainly aren't!!!

What are the Georgetown and Big East records for 4-point plays in a season?

What an incredible win today. I was listening to bits and pieces of the game as I could. I am so proud of the performance today.

I feel ya. I actually thought we'd get out good today as the team that had already played and had their legs underneath them, only to be reeled in late. It was the exact opposite. We answered every single Villanova run. It wasn't always immediate but it was always on time. Once we answered their game starting run, there was only 1 other time I felt the game may get out of reach(the back to back threes by Swider and JRE). Hopefully we can get a decent lead tomorrow and get some subs in to emulate Collin's minutes today.

I'm proud of the guys, let's hope they aren't satisfied, we certainly aren't!!! This. What an incredible win. Robinson-Earl can flat out ball, but all those missed free throws today killed Nova. And what a day for us to hit 23-23. I was almost sure that the streak had ended with Harris's first one at the end, but when it settled in I just starting laughing and shaking my head. Pickett and Bile still can't hit any shots - hopefully tomorrow. My eyes tell me that Bile was just bad all around today, so hopefully he's due for a bounce back. My office had a mandatory elimination of bias session today from 9:30 - 11:00 CA time. I said to hell with that. I logged in on Zoom and went back to watching the game. Let's hear it for working at home!
