We need a good Plan B for if James is injured or in foul trouble.

Do we need another undersized guard though?

Do we need another undersized guard though? For the sake of arguing, yes and no! Yes, with another PG we will solidify all positions with a few players moving to positions not played last year. This means we not only speed up and are bigger at most positions but everyone has the chance of playing favorable minutes next year. That means Carter and Blair should get a chance to see the floor, Carter will play PF/SF and Blair will play SG unless either one chooses to transfer. We have four bigs that can play C/PF, four SF's with LeBlanc possibly playing PF/SF, three SG's with Mosely, Blair and Mac, and two PG's with Akinjo, #### (and whoever PE picks up after the Cole commitment plays out). No, if PE decides to beef up the SG position by adding more size. Looking at the our current roster we have no players at 6-4 or 6-5. This would've been solidified with the addition of Gardener but who knows whats going on with his recruitment these days.

I'm hearing from a good source that David Sloan is about to commit to Georgetown.

Well then that would do it for Cole Anthony - we'd be out of scholarships.

Well then that would do it for Cole Anthony - we'd be out of scholarships. Not so, it would work itself out. Most likely a non issue however.

Odd to go for a two year player. I hope he doesn’t impact recruiting with ‘20 guards. I guess Pat really wants another ball handler for the upcoming season.

Odd to go for a two year player. I hope he doesn’t impact recruiting with ‘20 guards. In the likely event that the Hoyas don't get Cole, I think Sloan will have a solid impact next year and could have a huge impact in 2021 in the event Akinjo goes pro after next year. I know that seems unlikely, but Ewing should be prepared for that possibility. I like Sloane as a player and trust Ewing as an evaluator. Hope the report about him being in the boat is true. 2019 class would be very well rounded.

Would've really preferred Terrell Allen if we're missing out on Cole. Don't want another scholarship tied down when it could be used for a really solid 2020 class, but maybe Sloan is just that good.

Wouldn't a 2020 be a Freshman during Sloan's Senior season. If Akinjo & McClung as juniors wouldn't be an issue, why would this be. Gotta have depth and balanced classes. Also looking that forward ahead is a fool's task. Many things change (transfers, pro aspirations, etc.) between now and them.

If Sloan committed to the Hoyas, then there would only be 1 available scholarship for the high school class of 2020.

Well then that would do it for Cole Anthony - we'd be out of scholarships. I haven't tracked the contacts closely, but it is conceivable the Cole remains a non-counter and will walk on at GU. I know, call me crazy, but as long as Pat hasn't been in direct contact with him off-campus, it is possible. Fairly certain he did not take an official visit and the NLI issue could be moot in this situation also. Just speculating, but this would open the door to him and Sloan coming on board.

This was also mentioned in my response in regards to transfers, pro aspirations etc. If you have a piece you want you take it and everything else will fall in line accordingly.
