Any idea who the coach is scouting at that school? Not opposed to JUCO kid if he is the right type of player. The kid from St John's has been a great pick up for them.

Sorry, it's the same school (Jones County Junior College) that has been discussed on this thread since September 2018. Likely scouting Galen Alexander, former 4 star wing who was dismissed from LSU (where he had been recruited by Kirby).

Has to be Alexander. Smith hasn't done much.

Any info on why the kid got dismissed from LSU? Sounds like the kid can score the ball and as an older player he should be physically ready to compete at the Big East level.

I can't imagine what horrific thing you would have to do to be dismissed from LSU. Anything short of killing someone or being overrecruited warrants a 1-2 game suspension, not a dismissal. hm

We gotta pickup a wing for next year going forward, I don't think we can wait until 2020! I see Pickett taking another step forward in his growth but the void is still there if we can't get Carter to transition into a SF roll. And to be honest I really don't see Carter capable of making that transformation but where else is he gonna get minutes.

Alexander would certainly fill a void but the staff needs to do their homework on the kid. Was dismissed from L$U last year.

I don’t know....that LSU coach does not have a good reputation. If a player cannot meet his very low bar, then we better perform satisfactory due diligence.

He wasn’t his guy needed the scholarships. One thing leads to another and he gets dismissed don’t think it was anything different

Clearly Pat was taking a hard line there but not every dismissal has to be a scandal.

I know he got recruited by Kirby but was Kirby still with LSU when whatever happened went down?

I would like to think that PE, Coach Kirby and Mr Alexander got pass all this dismissal issue with LSU before taking a trip to Jones CC.

He wasn’t his guy needed the scholarships. One thing leads to another and he gets dismissed don’t think it was anything different Or maybe the young man kept making mistakes so Wade decided to let him go, similar to how PE handled Walker & Sodom... www.tigerrag.com/source-will-wade-dismisses-two-players-suspends-two-more/“He’s somebody who’s going to take a leave of absence as well,” Wade said, “but he could possibly be back. He’s not dismissed or anything like that. He needs some time. We gave Galen a little time earlier this season away from the team to try to get some things in order. We’re going to give Kiir some time. Just like most young kids, young men, young freshmen need as they adjust to college and some of the pressures of college.
www.tigerrag.com/report-three-basketball-players-arrested-by-lsu-police-for-shooting-paintballs/Sophomore Wayde Sims and freshmen Galen Alexander and Mayan Kiir were issued summons and released after LSUPD responded to a report of a person being struck with paintballs while passing by the Music and Dramatic Arts Building on Dalrymple. The incident occurred on June 16, the report says.
“I’m aware of the situation and we are dealing with the matter internally,” head coach Will Wade told Tiger Rag in a statement. I’m extremely disappointed in these players and the poor judgement they used. This is no way to represent LSU or our basketball program. They have a clear understanding of what our expectations are as a program both on and off the court.”

I personally don't know this kid from any other recruit and I'm not running to his defense but let me part with this recruit, Allen Iverson!

With guys like this, we really have to trust the staff. They have way more knowledge and insight about these things through back channels and contacts than we will ever have.
