I think Alexander may be a guy who can come in and contribute immediately. If the grades and character are in order, I would be glad to land him, and I trust that the staff will do appropriate due diligence on those topics. If Shannon decides to go elsewhere, I think the staff may put the full court press on Alexander to fill that small forward role next year. No one really knows who the staff is prioritizing at this point but you have to think they have a wish list and Alexander is somewhere near the top of that list. Get that small forward locked up and then go find a 2 guard who can really shoot the ball and the team will be well positioned for next year.

5-10 from 3 seems pretty solid...
I'm surprised the kid I saw a couple years ago would even shoot 10 attempts. Either his shot has improved, or his confidence in it has.

Do you think we can get him court side for the last home game?

That clip screams, “bouncy, athletic, long, and tenacious.” This kid shows well on tape.

Young man had a good relationship with Coach Kirby. Kirby knows the situation at LSU and therefore if the Hoyas are recruiting him, whatever the issues he had at LSU have been cured. Seems like just the wing the Hoyas need next year to be that third scorer beside Yurtseven, Akinjo or McClung.

I like how his stats show he is dominating that level also.

Stud. Do you know if we're on him? yeah we are. This is a Kirby recruit. He goes way back with the family. He was an LSU signee that was dismissed from the team.

Galen certainly fills a need and checks the box of athletic wing who can shoot the 3 (don't know about his defense, ability to guard).

The Galen to Gtown steam is picking up. Kirby is all over him. Pat is receptive to it. And Josh has been recruiting him as well. Theres mutual interest. And if I was a betting man, I'd pick him as our likeliest next commit.
I have concerns. Granted I havent seen his game develop at JC this season. Galen is uber athletic. Great in transition. And attacks the rim. But his jumper is streaky and his defensive instincts arent great. He also predicated a lot of his game on what I call bully ball. Puts his head down and bullies his way to basket. In high school they either fouled him or got out of the way. College game is a different beast. The best comp for that style was Moseley in high school. He got most of his points barreling his way to rim. Weve seen how that translated in college early on when every other play for Jagan was a charge.
Dont get me wrong - hed be a solid wing pickup for next season. But I hope he used his JC year to improve his jumper and slashing as well as off ball help D.

We need more bullies and less finesse.

After a game like last night, this kid seems like just what the doctor ordered.
Give me him and a grad transfer who can shoot the deep ball.

Adding a kid like Alexander, or a grad transfer, would be a big help next year to bring some more experience and maturity to the team. The toughest thing for most freshman stepping up to major D1 basketball is consistency, which has been a season long issue this year with our freshman class. I love all three of the freshman that have been getting a lot of playing time for us this year, but it is very hard to depend on a lot of freshman on a nightly basis. These JUCO kids or grad transfers bring some more maturity and hopefully more consistency/stability to the program. Hopefully they can add at least one of these types of players to next years squad.

You would think a good grad transfer or JUCO wing player like Alexander would look at the gaping hole at the 3 spot in our lineup, and the talent of the other 4 starting players - and see a great opportunity to step right in and get a lot of minutes in a talented lineup.
