My love of college basketball won't stop because Georgetown isn't in the Big Dance!
My first thoughts are the 12/5 upset that happens every year will be UNC Wilmington over Virginia.
Marquette got a brutal draw playing South Carolina in Greensboro, South Carolina. Might as well be a true road game.

Providence, if they manage to with against USC, will have a rough game with SMU. They seem a bit underseeded as a 6. The American (probably deservedly) gets very little respect.

7 for the Big East and no Cuse. At least that's good.

Vanderbilt a 10 seed with 15 losses really demonstrates how huge the bubble was this season.
Xavier an 11 seed not playing in the play in game got a good draw against Maryland.
NO SYRACUSE!!!!

They are actually a 9 seed and I was literally thinking the same thing! The last four out had two teams with 80+ RPIs. The bubble was huge and incredibly weak.

Glad Syracuse didn't squeak into the field and glad the Big East put 7/10 teams in. That's a huge accomplishment for our league and helps keep us at the forefront when folks talk about the top basketball league in the country. Hope it'll be an interesting tournament. I don't have as good a feel for the good teams this year as I typically do. I didn't watch much basketball outside Georgetown this season, but I do plan to be as glued to the Tournament as I can this week.

No Cuse! Ahhhhh, small victories for Hoyas fans right now. Losing at home to a bad Georgetown team probably kept the Orangemen out of the Tournament! Best college hoops news in a long time!

That is good news. But I'm sure the drubbing at home by St. John's didn't help either. They lost to two of three Big East teams that didn't make the tournament. Not a good look.

I get into the tournament every year as I can't get enough of CBB. Still has a different feel when we aren't there on this night.
I will say I've become a bigger fan of our BE schools and watching the ESPN commentators complaining about all of the injustices done to the ACC gets a bit sickening. They really need to balance that studio better.
Hoping BE represents and continues to not allow this conference to be dismissed as non power five.

Bilas whining about Syracuse just spouting the company line, ESPN threw a lot of weight around to get them into the ACC.

Add to that the fact that they won exactly two games away from the Carrier Dome and it's not exactly a shock or injustice that they weren't invited.

No. I realize RPI is supposedly not the factor it used to be - but the entire tournament is, of course, played on neutral floors, so zero good wins away from home is a huge factor.

The ESPN ACC whine-fest was ridiculous. I bet they spent 20 minutes on why Syracuse should have been in. I'll be rooting for all the BE schools.....Marquette will be the hardest one for me, but I don't think they will last long. I really think Butler is getting too little respect.....they have a really strong resume with wins over 13 teams in the tournament, plus Utah and Indiana. We'll see....hopefully Nova can make another run to at least the Final 4 and we can get at least 2 more to the Sweet 16.

Other than Nova I don't see our BE colleagues going deep. I think Creighton could have made a run if Watson was still playing and Seton Hall really looked good against Nova but they did last year too and flamed out in the NCAA tourney.

How transparent can he be about one program and still have a job.

Three of these analysts have a Duke-UNC final? You talk about corruption in college sports just look at the way ESPN covers the NCAA.

I am confused. Bilas's response when asked in the past about teams complaining about not getting in has always been "win more games". But apparently not for ACC teams.

Add to that the fact that they won exactly two games away from the Carrier Dome and it's not exactly a shock or injustice that they weren't invited. Cuse would have been the lowest RPI team to ever receive an at-large. It was classic this morning on ESPN. They had Seth Greenburg, Jay Williams and Bilas talking the last 4 teams in. ESPN's analytics department said Cuse had a 0% chance of making the tournament and yet all 3 agreed Cuse should definitely make it. It is a joke the way ESPN endorsed Cuse. They are going to become the Foxnews of sports.

Why does anyone bother to watch ESPN any more? I'm surprised that no one picked a final four of Duke, UNC, Florida St. and Louisville.
