2003: "But we were a #4 seed some years ago..." Don't forget it those NCAA Tourney losses is a crap shoot and bad luck...the Hoyas will get to the Sweet 16 someday Give it a few decades, he's earned that with the 2007 run.

I for one have no doubt that JT3 will find a way to turn this around and get the program going in the right direction. He just needs another thirteen years or so, let's all support him and get behind him !! Just in time for JT4 to take over and become a multi-millionaire... where will he want his summer home to spend "the season"? You do not know... It is Martha's Vineyard

I have no doubt we will hear a lot about the quick turnaround in the post game press conference. Tough to play on one days' rest. Yes, this team is not built to play in March tournaments where you play quick turnqround games. I can't tell if you are being sarcastic or not...but the results since 2007 bear this out

Gotta keep fighting One game at a time "No one in this league is gonna feel sorry for us, we have to keep fighting" I am surprised...even you are getting in on the act.

Tough loss. That one hurt. Not much that can be done when players shoot that badly. We had so many open looks and just could not hit the broad side of a barn. Scoring less than sixty points will not get it done. Derrickson in particular for my money killed us early. He had good looks inside and out and could convert nothing. When one of your best players starts the game like that, you are in trouble. Nonetheless, the hyperbole here is amazing, and really comical. It was a terrible game. It is shaping up to be a rough season- the SECOND (not tenth) such season in a row (GASP). As fans, there is nothing left to do but shake that one off and get fired up for the next one. I am not giving up, and I will be watching every game for the rest of this season- and the rest of my life- even if they all look like this one. I hope and trust that they will not. GO HOYAS. Clap clap clap Your unbridled enthusiasm is hyperbole. No- it is what it means to me to be a Hoya fan: support the team, through thick and thin. I was just as proud in 2004 as 1984, and the same is true today. I cannot fathom the entitlement.

It's on the fans to make clear to the University leadership that this is unacceptable; otherwise nothing will change.

Donny Marshall almost calling III out Lavin was about to, but held his tongue. That's the fraternity. Also Steve Lavin does not have any room to talk

Marshall said "It's always quiet in this building" & "I feel for JT3" bwahahahahaha that's just horrible. Honestly , all I can do is laugh and keep cashing on the trends. JT3 isn't going anywhere no matter what the fans want. So make the most of it , I am . It's painful that a program that I LOVED and will still continue to love painfully just doesn't care that all the money invested is slowly becoming a MUDSLIDE to the BOTTOM of all bottoms (1-5 looking at 1-8 easy). You can act like this is just a hiccup or bump in the road if you want , but we're seeing the Esh era all over again basically. At least next year we'll have a couple exciting players that will give us some good highlight reels and maybe care enough to achieve something other then last place. People are growing tired of this mess AKA NIGHTMARE. Wasn't this the same team that had a player call us out last time we faced them. Prov is not a good team , but Cooley has a son in DC .. We are truely the biggest laughing stock in NCAA. It's TERRIBLE and Frustrating

Tonight was awful, I will give you that. But it can get worse. Ask DePaul. They're tied with us in the standings. They beat this Providence team that just wiped the floor with us. Yes and we've been awful so far and last year was bad too. The difference is DePaul has been as bad as we were tonight consistently for a decade. I am not saying this to defend the coach. But people don't realize that yes things can certainly be worse.

This fan base is becoming more apathetic as each embarrassing performance unfolds and it's hard to blame them. If and when a change is made, the next regime has work to do to generate excitement back into the program.

How can you be involve in such an important game on the season at home , even though the Verizon is empty , and not be ready to compete. Georgetown has a 6' 10" and a 7 footer and we are not able to pound the ball inside. Why recruit this players if you are not going to pass the ball inside. They tried early, and our bigs fumbled the ball every time. After several interior turnovers, they stopped looking inside. Plus our bigs are the only 7 footers that play the top of the key for the entire time on offense, and are constantly coming out to defend the long 2 or 3 on defense. The concept of keeping the bigs in the paint is lost at Georgetown.

The difference is DePaul has been as bad as we were tonight consistently for a decade. So instead of comparing ourselves to Villanova we have sunk to the basement and comparing ourselves to DePaul. That is depressing!

At $3m a year for a coach, you can find someone who can fix this. And right now GU has a brand but as I've been saying for three plus years, each day we watch these games that brand gets further diminished. Maybe we should have made the change after FGCU as I subtly suggested and we'd be competing with the Nova's, Creighton's, Butlers rather than the DePauls and St. Johns.

Well, there really was not one single positive aspect to that game. I think that's gotta be the low point for Hoyas basketball in the JTIII era.
As far as the points being raised about the pain that may result by moving on from JTIII - sure, we may lose Waters, and will probably have a number of years that pretty much suck. But, these past two years pretty much suck, and at least the program can start from scratch and try to build. Right now, there is nothing.
As a long-time loyal Hoya fan, the word that I keep coming back to is "sad" -- it's just very disheartening seeing the program in the basement of the Big East and seeing this team pretty much laughed off the court by a mediocre Providence team.

Good breakdown by Marshall of what's going on at Georgetown. I turned it off. What did he say?
