Hopefully Rodney has regained some confidence. We need to do a better job defending the 3, no reason we should not get this one.

We left some shooters opened today, but I thought we played smarter defense and avoided dumb fouls. It helped the refs weren't calling a lot of that. But, if we avoid dumb mistakes, we should beat the providences, seton halls, etc of this league.

Huge game...complete must-win situation. Hoyas can do it. One game at a time...

We need to start fast from here on out and keep our foot on the pedal. These sluggish starts our killing us, we have enough bench players to survive and everyone is healthy so why not go beast mode?

The final must win to get to the must wins!
Seriously though, finish these three and then get essentially a whole week to prepare for Xavier (which starts another run where we need 2 of 3).

I hope we get the same aggressive, energetic Georgetown team from the second half on Saturday and the same aggressive, energetic fan base on Monday night against Providence. This game is critical to get out of the Big East cellar and to set up some interesting opportunities for the team in the next couple weeks. This game marks the end of the easiest remaining portion of our schedule, and we really need to make the most of it. Providence is coming off their own nice win over Seton Hall, so I expect some of the same desperation from both teams that we saw up in their place just a couple weeks ago.
I no longer think of games as "must wins." Instead, this is an opportunity for this team. Getting back to three games above 500 really increases our odds of a winning season and creates an opportunity to do more. I like the guys on this team--pulling for them to grab another tomorrow night.

Nearly two weeks ago I wasted a night in Providence waiting for the team to take charge and win a very winnable game. It never happened and I sat there listening to fans who had been trashing their own team belittling what the Hoyas have become. Has anything changed from that game? Not certain. Need both Peak and Pryor to show up tonight--Pryor has to play defense even when his shot is not falling. Need the Mosley/Mulmore/Tre trio to continue to develop and provide energy and intelligent play on both ends. Hoping for good Govan and at least a glimmer of what Hayes provided throughout much of last year. MD has to hit his shots and stay out of foul trouble. Akoy needs to rebound--not dribble and Kaleb needs to play defense--not dribble. If any of the Hoyas are struggling with effort tonight, I hope the coach sees the senior and junior at the end of the bench who sit there waiting for an opportunity. Hoyas can beat this team. Hoyas should beat this team. But I cannot convince myself that the Hoyas will beat this team.

Friars have swept the Hoyas the last two seasons. PC...not Nova or Creighton or Xavier. This cannot continue. To quote that renowned inspirational speaker Mike Tomlin, "Be ready for their a$$". Go HOYAS!!!! Beat the Friars.

We were due two seasons ago. It's amazing how the Friars have owned the Hoyas as of late.

He may be the smartest (BB IQ) player on the team and he's pure energy who plays with grit and heart but he does so in a disciplined manner He only played one stint in the 1st half, just to spell Marcus but in the 2nd half when he was inserted things started to turn. He rebounds and defends and rotates smartly, better than anyone and he seems completely healthy. Akoy need not be only inserted to replace MD but play along side him, both are versatile and play well together.

Akoy has the quickest "second jump" ability among our big men, especially helpful on the offensive glass. He continues to look more and more confident in his knee, hopefully he will become a solid contributor every night.

When Govan and Hayes are not working out (which is a lot, it seems), I really like Agau/MD together. Heck, I would probably play them together the majority of the time and mix in Govan/Hayes. Especially if the lack of movement from our bigs is hurting us.

Ideally, the majority of the time should have Govan, Agau, MD taking up the 2 big men spots. I just want Agua/MD to play more minutes together. Hayes can be ready for foul trouble.
