Josh Carlton, of Dematha, spent the day at Georgetown yesterday on an unofficial. Has offers several high majors including Miami, Providence, Maryland and others.

DeMatha’s Josh Carlton will be a very closely watched prospect this season and over the summer recruiting circuit. Carlton is a very raw post talent who at this stage in his development is still learning how to become more efficient in the post. Carlton has promise though as he shows glimpses of being able to consistently score down low if given more attempts but playing in DeMatha’s motion, guard-centric offense limits his offensive involvement. For his size, Carlton moves well and when he develops a better motor he will be a load on the boards. Right now he resembles a much more skilled version former Kentucky center Dakari Johnson where his size causes problems for any opposing front court but his skills are still developing which means that Carlton can get lost at times in the mix offensively. Look for Carlton to take on a more central role next season as the departure of seniors Markelle Fultz (Washington commit) and Nate Darling (UAB commit) should open up more shot opportunities for Carlton down low and top ranked junior DJ Harvey on the perimeter. sentelevision.com/wcac-players-to-watch-for/

Josh Carlton, a 6-foot-9 center, was originally born in Silver Spring, Maryland, and has returned back home after spending a few years in North Carolina and immediately has provided a rim presence within the interior for the winning bunch out of Hyattsville. With a very strong body and someone that runs the floor well, Carlton will never be described as an athletic and explosive ballplayer around the basket. However, his strength and toughness immediately sets the tone within the paint and because of it, causes for major issues when it comes to his opponents scoring from 15-feet and in. www.hoopseen.com/news/general/201512/recruitment-heats-up-for-josh-carlton

Seems like JT3 saw him play his best game of the AAU season... "College coaches - such as Georgetown's John Thompson III, Pittsburgh's Kevin Stallings and Texas' Shaka Smart filed in to take in the action. Team Takeover - fresh off an 85-59 rout of All Ohio Red - jumped out to a nine-point lead early in the first half. But Josh Carlton (2017 C/PF from DeMatha) kept Boo close, scoring 14 of their first 25 points. The 6-foot-9 big man was a perfect 7-of-7 from the field in the first half as Boo trailed 31-27 at intermission." virginiapreps.n.rivals.com/news/boo-williams-wins-one-loses-two-in-brooklyn

This kid tore it up in Vegas. Now considered to be one of the top centers in his class. Expect Hoyas to get heavily involved.

Wonder if more of the big boys will get involved. Anything is possible but to me it doesn't matter.. If the staff likes the kid then they should make a hard move for him & let the chips fall where they may.. It looks like they have ground to make up though.. www.d1circuit.com/roster_players/11897346?subseason=

Question is does he want us. Also, where's the offer? He visited in early June.. Carlton has visits to other schools already planned according to the article above..

Question for those in the know: aside from a player tweeting that they got an offer, how do you typically know whether somebody has been offered or not? In other words, how likely is it that somebody could have an offer and nobody would know?

Question for those in the know: aside from a player tweeting that they got an offer, how do you typically know whether somebody has been offered or not? In other words, how likely is it that somebody could have an offer and nobody would know? Most coaches at programs that routinely churn out D1 prospects alert certain media members when one of their players has been offered. So if Evan Daniels tweets Josh Carlton was offered by Georgetown - just as an example - he may have got it directly from the kid or seen the kid Tweet it first but will wait to get confirmation from the coach before putting it out there. The coach knows.
