Scouthoops.com shows him as having committed to us scouthoops.scout.com/index.htmlThis is huge for us and I am sooooooo excited right now!!! I love JT III and staff so much, major props to them. I know a lot of people question rankings but this guy is ranked highly across the board, and you gotta love the competition we beat out to sign him, I LOVE IT!!! georgetown.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?Sport=2&pr_key=28849Now if we can get a big out of DaJuan Summers, Vernon Macklin, and Lance Thomas to go along with Ewing who will be eligible that year we will be really set!!!

EXCELLENT NEWS!
It also says a lot for JT3. Doc Rivers is a very knowledgable "Insider". He is essentially endorsing JT3's coaching ability. This has to have a significant impact beyond this particular recruit, in terms of the reputations of JT3 and the program. It also brings an additional BUZZ around GU.
This is really great news. GOOD WORK JT3 and staff!

F'n Awesome!!!!!!!!!
This is the highest ranked recruit we've had in quite a while. I'm really excited about it. Rivers is an awesome player by all accounts and I'm really thrilled hat III and the staff are starting to nab top recruits.
My roomate asked me earlier "Hey, did Rivers make a decision yet?" I was like "Nah, probably won't for a while." Then I come on and low and behold, he's a Hoya! EXCELLENT!

Of course. It is a requirement for sons of Celtics coaches to come to Georgetown. Rick Pitino and Jim O'Brien's sons were roommates a few years ago. They did not have quite the same game as Doc's kid though.

And although he's a GW man, Red is often at the games and is good friends with Big John and the school as well....

Great news. I am so excited that JT3 is proving himself as a very good recruiter. Also, this guy is high profile not just for his obvious ability but also his name. I can envision a CBS sideline reporter speaking to Doc during the NCAAs about how great the Hoyas and his son are playing.

Great to see a solid commitment early. Hopefully this sets the tone for the 2006 recruiting class.

I'm incredibly excited right now! Guys, we have the coach and we are really starting to get the players necessary for big things. We got respect last season, and if the BE isn't fearing us yet, they realize it's right around the corner. THIS IS HUGE.

The writing is on the wall, and it says that Paranoia is coming back. Welcome to the family, Jeremiah. Here's to the All-Father/Son Team in 2006-2007.

I love it! This is great news. We are desperately in need of a big time point guard, and he seems to fill the void. I definitely love Jon Wallace, but Rivers is supposed to be on another level. What a great way to finish off the school year.

this is only the begining folks. do you know how talented the 06 class is. if we get just another player of Rivers' caliber we are going to be stacked and will be making serious noise and competiting for a championship in the most difficult conference in america.

I realize that rankings don't mean much, but they still help me when I send emails. Emails like, "This is the highest ranked recruit since _______." Please fill in the _______.

Great pickup by III and the staff, yada yada yada. Wonder if he can play in Kenner this summer...
As for getting another in the '06 class, if that happens then Wallace is NOT getting a scholarship as some have speculated about on the board. I'm pretty certain that although he doesn't count next year, Ewing Jr. WILL count his final two years - something about if you have a scholarship once you always count even if you come off of it. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
Either way, this bodes well for the future. We've got tons of guards and slashers... let's get some beef and we're all set. Cornellio, I'm looking in your direction....

I believe that your interpretation of the scholarship always counting is correct Buffalo. Any stated reason as to why Wallace won't be getting a scholarship? As far as I know from his achademic performance and background he is probably already receiving financial aid.
