Hold on. Hibbert may have fallen (even though he had a very good junior season and a great senior season), but I don't recall him falling completely out of most Top 100 lists. Maybe my memory is just fuzzy. The only Top 100 list I remember Hibbert making was Rivals.

that's ridiculous!!! how is a kid a top 40 players before he commits and then miraculously gets 50 spots worse 3 days later. I agree, it's obviously an ACC bias and obviously a discredit to Georgetown. I see kids on this list I didn't see last week. 50 spots!!!!!!!!!! a joke. I'll stick with Gibbons' analogy and ranking. If the kid committed to UNC/Duke, he's top 10. If we get Macklin, he may drop out all together.

Now that some of the original thrill of landing rivers has died down, I'd like to get a little discussion of Rivers' game going.
Over on the Notre Dame board, they seem to think that the reason they didn't land Rivers was that they couldn't guarantee him that he'd play the point, and we could. They've got some other PG prospect coming in this year. Anyway, does anyone know if there's truth to this?
Also, how will Rivers jive with our other backcourt players and prospects-- Wallace, Sapp, Thornton, and perhaps Eggerson/Crawford? I'm particularly interested in how he might fit with Jesse, who I think we all suspect will be a starter from day 1. Are they too similar? Might Rivers/Wallace or Rivers/Thornton be better options?
Basically looking for anything that can be said about Rivers' game and how he'll fit with our other players...

I talked to a kid that went to HS with him and he says he's good shooter. It was said earlier on the board that he needed to work on his shot. doesn't everbody? Anyway, ND signed Kyle McAlarney outta NJ at the point, that's why they couldn't guarantee Rivers he'd run the point. If that's true. I believe he just chose the best school for him and coach for him. My contact also said he can run the point, is very smart, tough (like dad) and has good vision. I've seen him listed as a point and a wing. I talked to Wallace, who's back home for a bit, and he says he can really play. He also says PE Jr. will be a beast for us. I'll catch up with him this week and get more.

Rivers just made a choice based on his feelings and probably input from dad. He said it was the toughest choice he ever had to make. It wasn't because of promised or likely minutes. he has the same prospect of minutes at either school. As many of you may have read, he also said he'd loved GU since hanging around Patrick when his dad was with the knicks some years ago. The ND board is just making excuses.

I'm glad that these guys have been able to go home and visit with family before they return for the summer. They don't often get that opportunity due to the rigors of the season.
