Ty is visiting again today. Nice...how about a commitment while on campus, is that too much to ask? What's the weather like in DC today? I know nice spring days with the ladies out in sundresses always put me in good spirits when I was on campus...

There was a rumor that he was gonna commit a couple weeks back but that went away. A pledge would be nice...

This is a pretty interesting new article from the Villanova site. villanova.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1080694Doesn't seem like Tyrone is anywhere near making a decision. Also seems like his recruitment will be a dogfight with 'Nova (who will be losing Fisher next year and will likely be looking for a point guard). Nevertheless, I like hearing this: "Johnson is running with a different AAU team this spring and summer, Team Final. "It just a better fit for me and it's great playing on a big stage," he said. One prominent member of the Team Final squad, number four ranked junior Rakeem Christmas, has talked with Johnson about going to college together. "Not really, but I know Rakeem Christmas and he'll talk about it. Georgetown is recruiting both of us," said Johnson when asked if he has had conversations with anyone about going to college together. "He's the only one who I've talked about it with. He knows my situation, and I know his. We said no matter we are still gonna be good friends. Other guys like playing with me, but he is the only one [who I have talked about it with]."

It was bad news for us with Tyrone Johnson when Cory Joseph chose Texas. Wright knows how to recruit guards...but don't forget, even when Fisher graduates, Wayns and Cheek will have 2 years of eligibility left.
Hopefully Christmas and Johnson wouldn't mind playing together on the Hoyas.

Rak and Ty sounds like a crime fighting duo. They should commit together to us just for the sign potential.

Is Ty considering Rutgers? Does the Cox defection to Rutgers impact our ability to land Ty?

I have no inside info, but I believe its between GU and Villy. They're recruiting a number of the same kids; most notably Johnson and Myles Davis. If they get Davis, I'd be kinda blue...okay too obvious.
Anyway, either of these kids would be good gets for Hoyas it seems. Davis more of a 2 and apparently the better shooter; Ty more of a point and a little bigger.

Johnson was on Rutgers campus on Tuesday for a visit per the Rutgers board, and having Cox might help them. RU is also very close to where he's from. That said, I'm not too worried about RU, especially given the rumors that he will transfer to a high school outside of the area. If he left central Jersey for high school to go to somewhere like Montrose or Oak Hill, why would he go back for college? If he wanted to stay in this area there are a lot of good high schools he could enroll in within an hour of Plainfield.
I agree with id, without any inside info, I'd guess Nova will be the toughest competition for us. They have built themselves a reputation as being "Guard U" and they've recruited NJ very well under Wright. If he does end up at Montrose, even more reason to be concerned about Nova (Wright plucked Yarou and Armwood from there in the 2009 class).
