Thanks for posting krukster. Loved one of his last things that he is looking for in a program: "A place where I can be televised".
Hope we get this kid. Seems like he likes the Big East with the schools he is mentioning.

Ty, if you're reading this, all of our games are televised. Of our remaining games, two will be on CBS and the rest on the ESPN networks.

I hope we have at least three more on CBS, beyond the two we know about.

Another article about Tyrone from the beginning of January: www.nj.com/hssports/blog/boysbasketball/index.ssf/2010/01/union_county_qa_with_plainfields_tyrone_johnson.html"Q: What schools have offered you a scholarship? A: I don’t have any football offers yet. For basketball I have offers from Rutgers, Seton Hall, St. John’s, Georgetown and Villanova. Those for right now, and other schools are recruiting me heavy. The Big East is the best conference in basketball but I wouldn’t mind playing in any other conference. But most likely it would be in the Big East."

"High School Hoops: Basketball is Back in Plainfield": njtoday.net/2010/01/14/high-school-hoops-basketball-is-back-in-plainfield/"With the loss of Epps, the sixth-ranked Cardinals are carried by 6’2 junior Tyrone Johnson, who is averaging just under 20 points per game for the young squad. Johnson also dons a football uniform in the fall. All bets are leaning towards a basketball future for the junior who is hearing from Georgetown, Maryland, Virginia Tech, Seton Hall, and Rutgers. “Tyrone is a born leader,” replied Terrence Johnson. “Whatever he does, he excels at.” Tyrone Johnson’s coming-out party this season was in the semi-final game against Seton Hall Prep in the Holiday Jubilee in Neptune. The Plainfield junior standout scored 14 points in the final quarter and overtime to beat the Pirates. He then dropped 26 on Neptune in the final in a Plainfield 62-56 victory."

Maybe Pops can arrange a meet with AI (within NCAA rules of course) so he can extol the virtues of GU!

We need this kid on the Hilltop! My Local coaching connects in Jersey say he's the real deal and will be a star on the next level once he matures physically. A.I 2!

Don't think there will ever be an AI2, but I agree, this kid would be a great get.

My lord. If we land Rakeem and Johnson from 2011 to pair with Lubick and Starks from 2010, we'll have one helluva core 4 leading the next generation of Hoyas.
I know it's extremely pre-mature, but how about the potential depth on the 2011-12 team?
PG: Starks/Johnson/Sanford SG: Clark SF: Thompson PF: Lubick/Benimon C: Christmas/Abraham

ESPN Scouts Inc.
Evaluation of Tyrone Johnson
"Johnson completely controlled the tempo of the game, using his size and strength to hold off opposing pressure and always staying under control while running the team. He picked his attack spots well within the offense, making great decisions off the ball screen, elevating for mid-range pull-ups with a soft touch, showing good footwork and explosion with his rip-through moves, and creating for himself and others off the dribble. His physical tools make him a good defender already, but he projects as a major weapon down the road once he learns to get low in his stance and take pride in each defensive possession."

To be honest, I had forgotten about Sims. I think he's a transfer risk. And if he stays, he may not be in the rotation above the guys listed. But I should have put him in. Thanks for the correction. With the limited minutes he's getting, he's more easily forgotten these days...

That's very sad that Sims was forgotten. I hope he uses that for extra motivation.
