this blurb from our friend jerry meyer, who never seems to give us any love.
per rivals:
Terrence Jones is wide open and has a plethora of schools recruiting him, but he did name Kentucky, Arizona, Duke, North Carolina, Connecticut and Oklahoma as the six schools at the top of his list. Duke and North Carolina are the only schools recruiting Jones who have not yet offered.

From Scout today:
"Terrence Jones claims scholarship offers from Oklahoma, Florida, Maryland, Connecticut, Arizona, USC and Kansas. He said Washington, Oklahoma, Connecticut, USC and UCLA are the five schools coming the hardest."

Rivals had this to say about Jones yesterday as well:
"Jones had a productive day in a 58-point blowout win against a disinterested D-One squad. Playing with some competitive zeal, Jones put up 27 points, 11 rebounds, five blocks and four assists in a little over 20 minutes of playing time. He set the tone early with his defensive rebounding, instinctual passing and accurate three-point shooting. Also impressive was his defensive work. When matched up on Quincy Miller, Jones gave him fits with his superior strength and length, blocking several of his shots. Right now Jones and Tobias Harris are in a race towards the top of the power forward rankings."

From reports we seem to have had JTIII and an assistant at his games recently, i don't know how we can be coming any harder than that.

From ESPN (GBOA Challenge yesterday):
"Although many of the aforementioned prospects had their outstanding moments, it was forwards Terrence Jones (Portland, Ore./Jefferson) and Jelan Kendrick (Atlanta/Westlake) who were a cut above the rest, in terms of dominance and progression. Jones put together a scintillating performance at both ends to lead his I-5 Elite squad over D-One Sports while Kendrick showed dramatic improvements in many different areas of his game.
Standout player Jones showed why he is considered one of the elite level players in the country. He is a unique player with a versatile game and a lengthy frame. The strong lefty loves to dominate the ball and can execute a number of different skills. He can drain the 3-point shot, take defenders off the dribble and is a solid passer. He uses his strong frame to finish off the dribble, but he isn't a big-time athlete (not overly quick). He uses the pump fake and jab step very well to get to the rim and has a nice floater. However, at the next level, Jones will need to learn to play the game without the ball. He has a tendency to force the issue off the dribble, and if he doesn't have the ball, he just stands around. Overall though, Jones is a major talent and is a nightmare match up because of his unique skill set."

ya i don t get why one publication says jones said this while the other says he said that. well i mean i do know why. they pander to the higher membership schools but even still.
that said, maybe there isn't any interest from him towards the hoyas. even with our staff pushing hard.

From the same ESPN article, how about what the author had to say about Duke's recruits:
"Duke recruiting has been in question the last few years (in terms of top notch talent) and if they don't land Harrison Barnes the Cameron Crazies may start getting worried about when their next Final Four trip will happen. We saw aa few other Duke recruits today. Joshua Harriston (DC Assault) is a solid 4-man for the highest level, but 6-3 Tyler Thornton (DC Assault) doesn't possess the talent to be an impact player in the ACC."

Eric Sondheimer -- the L.A. Times high school beat guy, and a pretty fair reporter -- says that Jones said on Thursday in Las Vegas ("with Krzyzewski watching") that "he is considering Oklahoma, Florida, Arizona, Maryland, Duke, Connecticut, USC, and UCLA." I know, I know, you can't believe everything that you read on this stuff, but still....

Any chance anyone gets out there(Nevada?) Having a hard time figuring what teams with what players are playing where. It is all over the city. For all I know I could have run into Terrance going up the stairs of the rec center (bball courts on the 3rd floor).

NBADraft.net has this on Jones from this weekend:
"Jones is more of 4 than a 3 at this stage in his development but has a nice handle and passing skills that could eventually allow him to move to the wing permanently. He finishes in traffic with authority and has the length to give wings and bigs problems. The only thing lacking in his game is a consistent outside stroke."
