So if he's a '10, does this guy play more of a 3, and Lubick more of a 4? Any chance he looks at us and says, "they already have their forward with Nate"?
I guess in our system, the 3 and 4 are fairly interchangeable, but seems like it could be an issue.

What is funny is that any objective person that is not a Hoya fan, will watch Terrence and immediately think of Jeff Green/Ron Artest. It is that obvious how similar Terrence's game and build are. I like a little of the Hedo Turkoglu that Graegle mentioned also. Terrence is a bright kid. So I would think that if he is making a longterm business decision (NBA). He will quickly see how JT3 has utilized guys like Jeff and Pat in the system to maximize their skill sets. If you are about 6'8 with high hoops IQ, passing, ball handling, shooting skills, and the ability to post up, the Gtown system is where a player will flourish. If you want to be able to shoot the three one possession, post up a munchkin the next possession, then facilitate the offense and make a great assist the next time down the court... Come to GU. JT3 should relocate to Portland for the next few months . Plus Terrence's sister goes to Howard, so she can bring some cute friends to the games. That is a win/win for all. ;D Great points RDF. Plus a degree from Georgetown>>>>>>>>>>>>> maryland, indiana, florida, oklahoma, arizona, washington, kansas...

Yeah RDF I know you said it as well as I did....I think Lubick will play some 5 in the system. I think he is the perfect almost Kit Mueller type of player who is a banger who can face up and hit the outside jumper and pass. Almost unguardable when you have that type of player in the hub position in the princeton O....That why I think he has no factor on Jones coming here plus you have to realize that Henry Sims will be a jr/sr at the 4 in their first 2 years here.

I really like the quote on him defending ESPN's #1 player in the country(granted overrated but w/e) Harrison Barnes.... Me too. Whether it is a high-school or AAU game, Terrence usually takes on the challenge of guarding the other teams best player regardless of position. And like Deals said, for a big dude he really moves those feet. It was so frustrating this past season watching the wings on GU just letting guys blow past them repeatedly.

This is basically Terrence's schedule the rest of the summer. There are always scheduling conflicts so these things change. I will also edit my first post that started this thread to include his schedule so it will be easier to find:

June 17-21: NBPA Top 100 Camp, Virginia
June 23-26: Vince Carter Skills Academy (Orlando, FL)
July 5-7: LeBron Skills Academy (akron, OH)
July 6-9: Northwesthoops.com Invitational (Hillsboro, Or)
July 12-15: Nike Peach Jam (North Augusta, SC)
July 22-26: Main Event (Las Vegas, NV)

Scout review of his play this past weekend in Rose City Tournament: "Terrence Jones – The Portland native has emerged as one of the better forward propspects in the country for 2010. Jones is an excellent athlete, but an also a shining example of the 'even though you can doesn’t mean you should' school of hoops. If his performances in the Showcase are any indication, he thinks he’s a guard. He isn’t. He’s probably not a wing either, and appears best suited to the role of power forward. The 6-foot-8 senior-to-be loves to get out on the break and has the wheels to do it. His handle, on the other hand, doesn’t appear up to the task. He’s inconsistent dribbling the ball outside the key and is easily stripped, and his slow-release jumper is suited for life behind the 3-point arc, where he spends much of his time. It’s hard to get a read on Jones: He’s got a lot of tools but is putting them to use in the wrong places. If he spent as much time focusing on his post moves as he does his behind the back dribble, he has a chance to be special. But for that to happen he’s got to come to grips with what he is; a forward crashing the boards who can step out and hit the occasional 3-pointer or thread a tight pass. If he does that, he’s got a bright future. As a point forward perimeter player? Not so much."
Listed "most of the Pac-10 as well as Kentucky and North Carolina, among others."

hmm interesting contrast to what greagle and others have posted. The consensus on here seemed to be he would be a point forward.

Don't think schools recruiting him or any other player give a darn about what the sites say. At least no school/coach worth its salt.....and everyone has an opinion. Just look at RDF's post from the Pangos camp where they compared TJ to Jeff Green and called him a point forward. And certainly for the umpteenth time, there is nothing more worthless than school list in these articles.
Now i was not in Portland but i heard Terrance's team was undermanned (especially down low) and he had to take on a lot of the load. So him overdribbling at times is probably understandable....no one said TJ is a PG...he's a skilled forward who is very capable of handling/facilitating. I actually was happy with the part of the report saying that TJ looked good in the post.

Sounds a decent amount like Summers, doesn't it? Certainly as far as Hoya comparisons go. I like Jones a lot but I still think it's hard to like our odds.

You obviously have never watched Jones play. His game is nothing like summers, but nice of you to cherry pick that article.....written by a Washington site

Sounds a decent amount like Summers, doesn't it? Certainly as far as Hoya comparisons go. I like Jones a lot but I still think it's hard to like our odds. Ever the pessimist lately... Maybe I am coming off that way but just trying to be realistic. Assuming Jones is a fall commit, he's about 4 months away from making a decision. To date he hasn't really given any indication that we are a favorite or a leader, and he didn't list us as one of the handful of schools "recruiting him the hardest". He's got a ton of options including many solid choices that are closer to home, so I'm not getting my hopes up. You obviously have never watched Jones play. His game is nothing like summers, but nice of you to cherry pick that article.....written by a Washington site All I said was that that particular write-up sounded a lot like Summers--and it unquestionably did. Excellent athlete at 6'8 who is built like a PF but who thinks he is a guard and is in love with the perimeter, can get out on the break and finish but lacks ballhandling, spends much of his time beyond the 3 point arc, has a lot of tools but doesn't necessarily use them right, and is not a true point forward. That's what that review said and you could write that exact same thing about Dajuan. Also, it's not like I was taking a shot at him or something, so no need to get defensive. I know Jones is your boy and everything, and I know youre super-critical of Summers, but there are worse things you could say about a prospect than to mention him in the same breath as a guy who is about to be an NBA first round pick.

he's not my boy. And all i said was that you have not seen him play which i do not believe you have. And i also said you cherry picked the article which you did. Why not make a reference to the article from Pangos last week where they compared him to Jeff Green? Are Jeff and Dajuan similar players in any way? that goes to my bigger point that you have to take ALL these articles that come out each week by different people with a grain of salt. you have to watch these kids with your own eyes. Greg Hicks, Evan Daniels, and Dave Telep all watched Terrence a couple weeks back at the same tournament. And Greg had a vastly different opinion than Dave and Evan. I asked Evan about it and he said "I know how Greg feels and Dave and I humbly disagree". And all three of these guys are very good people and talented scouts. Believe Tony and I when we say he is nothing like Summers. People on the outside could have assumed that Will Barton was really considering Kansas and a bunch of other schools based on scout/rivals articles... You should probably keep focusing on those big Jamal Olasaware and Gokhan Sirin commitments to come. Oh wait, you still think GU is taking 4 players from the 09 class. Can you still get Terrell Vinson

Can you still get Terrell Vinson Er, what? I’m ignoring your first paragraph because I’ve said all I have to say about Jones for now (good player who we've got only an outside chance of landing). But what’s up with that last paragraph, sounds like you’re trying to mock me only it doesn’t make any sense. I don’t remember ever insisting that GU would take 4 in '09, but I may well have said it was a possibility—and it was, if Latavious Williams had gotten a high enough SAT score we may well have a 4 man class right now. Nobody ever said that Jamal O or Sirin would be brought in on top of Bennimon, but they were undoubtedly considered for that same scholarship that Bennimon ultimately got, so what’s your point? As for Vinson, I said (repeatedly) early on that I didn’t think a small forward like he or Spurlock made sense with Thompson already in the fold and with a lot of good small forwards on the radar in 2010, but I did think he made as much sense (or more) late in the game compared to guys like Olasawere, Benimon or Sirin, none of whom had any real high major interest except for us. I really don't have even the foggiest idea what this is a reference to, deals. I don't know what you guys' issue is, all I said was that that particular write-up made Jones sound a lot like Summers. You disagree, fine. I am not even claiming that Jones surely is like Summers (which again wouldnt be a terrible thing), just that report reads like it. For whatever reason you guys seem to have taken that rather mundane observation personally and are trying to "diss" me, so if either of you have a problem with me, you're both welcome to PM me any time.

No thanks, you are too irritating to want any further dialogue with. It is obvious you do not know how the recruiting process or how GTOWN operates. And you do not provide anything outside of negative conjecture based off these internet sites or your boy's agenda.

Are you guys kidding me? He never said anything about Jones being like Summers, just that particular write-up sounding like Summers. Without cherry-picking or whatever you guys are on about, the write-up DOES actually sound like Summers. I don't doubt that he's a very different player, but the write-up sounds a lot like him, whether or not he actually plays like him or not. I don't know if the article is full of s***, and it might, but that's all that was said, no?

I for one greatly appreciate the information, opinons, and links/videos provided by balla, graeagle, RDF, tonydeals. They actually get out there, see these players, and give us educated opinions. Their word should mean more than highlight clips and definitely short blurbs which seem to have high variability.
IMO, the blurb does NOT sound like Summers. 1. He says terrence is not even a wing but really a PF. We tried Dajuan at PF remember? he was no good. he was really a wing in college and in the pros. 2. He says Terrence has a slow release jumper. Dajuan has a very quick release jumper. in fact, that is the best part of his game.
So personally i really don't even get the people saying he sounds A LOT like Dajuan based on this ONE blurb. And even if they did give a description that sounded similar to dajuan who cares? it's just a little blurb and not a detailed scouting report like you see from these drafting sites. Have people read ALL the blurbs in the other 6 and half pages of this thread? This one is the obvious outlier. Furthermore, blurbs mean less to me than pictures. I've seen ALL the highlights provided by balla, RDF, graeagle and terence looks NOTHING like Dajuan to me. And i take it highlights can be misleading. So i value what the people who have actually seen Terrence say the most. If tony and grae say he's nothing like Dajuan and more like Jeff Green then i believe them. If RDF says he's like Ron Artest then i believe him.

Blurb from Northstar:
Terrence Jones, List: Oklahoma, Indiana, Florida, Maryland, Arizona, Arizona State, Washington, Washington State, Oregon, Oregon State, Cal, Marquette, Georgetown, Kentucky, Duke, North Carolina, and Kansas Favorites: “I plan on having favorites and narrowing [my list] down after this summer, so I can see who’s serious and what they’re systems are about.” Note- Jones listed seven of the 10 schools in the Pac-10 (all but Stanford, USC, and UCLA), so I asked him if playing in the Pac-10 is something he wants to do, and he replied, “I’m not really concerned with the conference, just what is best for me and [who] can get me better.”
