Welcome to the team Nate--if what I have seen and heard about your game thus far is accurate, you should have a great career with the Hoyas. And while I think this issue should be put to rest--the only colors that ever matter on this team are the ones that are on the player's shirts.......gray, blue and maybe a little red if they are really going all out!! JTIII continues to add to the future of this team and I LOVE it. The staff really seems to be able to identify players that fit the way they want to play and go out and get them. I enjoy the feeling that not only have we had a few years of success, not only do we have an exciting team to watch this year, but we also have the potential for a great team for years to come. I can't wait to see what happens next!!

"Who ran alongside Griffith? Hmm - Jerry Eaves. "
I kinda knew that one...he's the coach at A&T...

Actually what they are writing now is tame by comparison to some stuff/misinformation that Riot U fans have been posting for years. Don't pay them any mind. Right now there may not be a more bitter group of fans in the country. True, the shockingly casual racism is jaw-dropping, and I don't know if there's a more nihilistic fanbase in the country right now (thanks for doing your part, Al Groh!). But you gotta hand it to Turtle/TerpSportsReport for routinely giving us pure comic gold threads like this one: mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=174&f=2580&t=3156441&p=1In which a shortage of tickets for a Midnight Madness event sets off five pages worth of Terp students and recent alums cannibalizing their own and roundhouse kicking straw men before the predictable but still HI-larious resolution (see page 5 posts from this evening).

Sounds as if the Hoyas out-recruited Duke and Stanford for what seems to be a traditional type of Duke/Stanford recruit. Welcome Nate!

To be fair Duke didn't go all out after him from what I know. He was a backup option.

No. Once again for the record, Jeff Bullis was from Bel Air, MD. Most of the negative crap was courtesy of Lou Campanelli. Had a nice career on the Hilltop though did not play as a Senior ('82). I know he was from MD - I knew him personally when we were in school - great guy. My comment was that I thought this was who lic was talking about (turns out that was true) but that lic probably had the state wrong.

You just read his mind! Was it the bananas?

Welcome to the fam Nate. Just keep bringin the hard hat. I won't bother going into one of my extended diatribes, since this thread should just be a welcome thread for Nate. However, the closet racist media and fans(including some Hoya "fans"), is comical. I forget if we are talking about hockey or basketball. Don't be shocked if Gtown adds at leaste one more New Englander. Rod Odum is from Mass, and Jason Morris plays in CT although he is from the ATL.

I knew I said I was done with "racial stuff"--but I HAVE to post this as I've addressed it on the Rivals.com MAINBOARD and it's still up. Last night some fan of another team started a thread that was insensitive and accused Georgetown of being racist and asked why Nate would want to be a Hoya. At least 3 Hoya fans--myself included responded and asked for the thread to be pulled/taken down. Many other fans--including Duke fans--said it was a stupid post/thread and should be taken down. It's 5 after 1pm EST time--thread still up. It's also the day Ryan Kelly is deciding and while I'm not one who wants him to be a Hoya--it has nothing to do with his race--but the Duke loving Rivals boys sure seem to be slow in getting that thread down--wonder why? That is how BIASED against Georgetown some people are--and it's pathetic.

This is from the New England Recruiting Report: " Lubick will receive plenty of praise for committing to a place like Georgetown, a school that combines the best in academics and athletics. But ultimately, while his decision is certainly impressive, the way that he went about making his decision is even more impressive. He never let race become a factor and instead picked the program and school where he felt most comfortable." www.newenglandrecruitingreport.com/news/article/569/Lubick-Picks-Georgetown.php

Totally agree RDF. that thread is disgusting. I won't even go into the details/trash about what is being said in that thread. It is embarrassing. I am a calm person so it takes alot to get me a little mad. I can't look at that site until they take that thread down.

I'm sure Nate will be a great Hoya, but is this really that big of a deal that he chose a university where close to 90% of the people on campus will look like him? If he transfers to Howard or Hampton, then we have a story.
