tinyurl.com/m2prkIn true WG fashion, they scheduled such invasion during the GU/SU game. And they want to lecture us about scheduling? This stuff is red meat. Wait until they see Sunday's Washington Post.

This is the saddest thing I've ever heard. Not only will there be exactly 4 students going to G-town during the Cuse game, leaving some confused SFSers in the library to wonder what the heck the GW types are yapping about...but the mere fact that a writer is bashing a pair of their classmates for transferring? I think most of us have had friends who transfered. One of the kids I worked with at the Hoya transfered to Harvard. And you know what? Good for him! This duo probably packed their bags just to get as far away as possible from this egomaniacal punk.
This is sad in a very pathetic way. If you want to beg for a game against us, go ahead, but Lamar, leave your classmates out of it.

"Georgetown, on the other hand, is nothing more than an ivory tower sitting idly in a remote corner of this wonderful city. By contrast, our Ivory Tower sits only a short walk away from the White House and the National Mall."
Um does he not realize that they're down the street from us. So were remote and they're right next to the white hosue who knew a mile made sucha differnece.

Hey let's lay off Lamar. He's already a women's studies and sociology double major. That alone is sad enough. He's probably too bored with all the free time he has on his hands, and this article was just a product of that boredom.
As for being afraid to play teams: once Maryland (49) completes its collapse, St. Joe's (50) loses another game, and both falls out of the top 50, exactly how many top 50 RPI games will GW have played out of their 27 game regular season schedule? ONE.
And what is their record in said game? 0-1. Not to mention a 21 point loss to a team that couldn't even avoid getting smoked by Seton Hall at home.
I'd like to hear Pops and other GW lurkers' takes on this and try to defend this mockery of an article.

God, I would be so embarassed if I were a GW alum or student right now. I'd be wondering, if I were a self-confident person, why someone who claims to think so much of their school, seems to also have the world's largest inferiority complex.

A. We are also firmly connected to this country's past, present and future. Let's not forget that GW was founded by an act of Congress in 1821.
- On March 1, 1815, President James Madison signed a Congressional Charter to establish Georgetown as a degree-conferring college.
B. Today, our University hosts an open and vital public dialog on the direction of America. Chief Justice of the United States John Roberts, conservative commentator Ann Coulter, comedian Jon Stewart, presidential candidate John Kerry, vice presidential candidate Jack Kemp, Congressman Dennis Kucinich and Sen. Ted Kennedy are just few present-day movers and shakers to recently pay a visit to the Colonial community.
- Secretary of State Rice, José Manuel Barroso, David Abshire, José María Aznar, Ján Figel', Secretary of the United States Army, John D. Negroponte, Roy Blunt and Stephen Lewis all of whom have visited Georgetown in the past couple of months (Note: If you are a GW student reading this and don't recognize these names, cut-n-paste them into Google and that should help).
C. In addition to facilitating an important conversation on current events, GW alumni and students are shaping America's future. Our university is one of the top five contributors of Peace Corps volunteers, and campus liberals are looking forward to GW alumnus Mark Warner's 2008 presidential bid.
- In 2005 Georgetown was ranked third in number of Peace Corps volunteers produced among both private and public medium-sized schools (classified as having between 5,001 and 15,000 students).
- 2008 presidential bid ... hmmmm, oh yeah, William Jefferson Clinton, wonder if they have heard of him?
Nice try ....

Ouch, good work dairish, at least the guy could have done his homework... Pretty sad article really. Do you think the AU folk write these sort of articles about WG? Hmm...no, it's just WG with the raging inferiority complex...

This is a joke right? Right? Hahahaha! Good one.
WHAT - he's serious??!! Are you kidding me? Oh my God - call the medics on the kid!
It'll be alright, Lamar, don't worry. Nobody hates you. Your parents really love you... No, they never meant that like that. Nobody hates you, we love you. We all love you. You're a wonderful person, and I'm sorry about the breast-feeding. Don't take it too hard - you'll be fine. (Aside: Get the straitjacket guys.)

Naturally, this twosome had their reasons for this act of treason. One explained that her decision was based "solely on academics" while the other admitted that, "In the back of my mind, I think I always wanted to go to (Georgetown)." Forgive me if I seem crass, but those aren't very good reasons.
Actually, those are two very good reasons

Wow. I mean, just wow. Can someone leave them a sign at the front gates on your way to the game. Maybe something like, "Inferiority Complex Much?"

Maybe we should leave a note:
"Dear Lamar A. Thorpe,
Sorry we missed you. Our team is out playing a legitimate opponent. Hope (but don't expect) you understand.
Love, Us"

GW Troll here, I'm sure you missed me this week.
YES, THIS IS THE MOST RIDICULOUS ARTICLE AND MOST FEEBLE GESTURE EVER OFFERED BY A GW STUDENT. IF IT WEREN'T TRUE, I WOULD THINK IT WAS SOMETHING FROM 'THE ONION'.
No one will march, but those who do should be commended for their act in the face of futility and certain ridicule.
On another note, try not to revel in Pops's minor injury, it dilutes your supposed superiority. We have a really deep bench and will win with or without Pops in the lineup. He should be back in time for the NCAA tourney, which we will be in even if we lose every single game between now and then. While he is resting, Regis Koundjia, MOntrell McDonald and Rob Diggs will get more PT, only helping us prepare for the sweet sixteen.

Who bothers to read GW newspapers or cares what they or any other team thinks about us?

Once you lose every game from here on out, you'd be in the tourney as about a #10 seed, and you'd be faced to play, you know, REAL teams. You know, those teams that actually know how to play basketball, not teams from the A10. I will challenge Chuck Norris to a duel if GW makes it to the Sweet 16.

In the best movie ever made, "The Postman" by Kevin Cosner, said the United States government was overthrown durring the battle of Georgetown. I think this may be that battle. If GW marches to Georgetown I say we pick them off crossing the bridges over rock creek park. Our ships will protect Washington Harbor from attack along the shoreline. The only problem will be defending the hospital from an attack from their Mt Veron Squad. A preemtive strike should take out their communications and power stations. After the first wave of attackers, we must make a push of our own. Quickly flank their lines at Washington Circle. Occupy their hosiptal and choke the streets of Foggy Bottom with their dead!!!!!!

Sorry that the A10 is not as good as it has been in previous years - you could say the same for the Big East, but you would probably not admit that regardless of fact. If GU loses the rest of its games (you are on a real tear lately), you will be likely to get in at 10th seed yourselves.
