I say we settle this in an Outsiders-esque way. After tomorrow's game, we throw on leather jackets and march victorious from MCI down to WG and start a rumble. Do it for Johnny. Do it for Johnny. Then again, the rumble could hurt our RPI. But I guess as long as we do it on their campus, it's all good. So dawn goes down to day, nothing gold can stay.

I for one invite the GW students to march on Georgetown - clearly it should be a high priority for them to march on campus when over 3,000 students will be attending this game - there will be a ton of people left on campus to great them. Also don't they play Fordham at the same time? Oh well I guess when you have an inferiority complex road games can wait.
I think that this will be a good chance for these students to finally get on to campus for the first time since they got rejected. In addition, many of them can drop by White-Gravenor for the Transfer Student Information Session.
I am in favor of writing a sign that says "Dear GW - Thanks for finally "getting in to Georgetown". We are at a real game between TWO good teams and won't be back for a few hours.

P.S. Transfer Applications are due March 1st"

Any WG sightings on the way back to campus?
Did Admissions get a large number of transfer applications slid under the door while they were there?

The next thing we know the AU students will be marching down 37th Street protesting that we don't play them. They used to be a "rival" like GWU and they are actually closer to us than Foggy Bottom. If GWU really want to play us manybe they would be willing to give us the Mt.Vernon campus on Foxhall Road to make it worth our while. In all reality why doesn't GWU schedule AU and they can have a nice litte home and home series in their nice little on campus faciliites. Enjoy you time in the Top 10 you have certainly earned it but don't bother us until your programs stays there for a couple of years.

Any word on how many GWians showed up? I think that would be a great idea playing GW for the Mt. Vernon campus on Foxhall. Winner takes all. would be a great palce for a basketball arena.

Admin, please lock down this chain immediately.
It is utterly below us to have even one, let alone this many postings about those gadflies from the low rent part of town.
GW clearly has a bad case of short man's disease. Lets knock this off right now and get back to socializing with the big kids.

Man the worst part about this is that GW is probably saying to themselves
"Look how much they talk about us! They do it enough where they have to care, right?" Answer- We have only been talking about GW at all this season because of their huge outcry to play against us. Their fans, their paper, and the trolls on this board have made such a big stink about this issue it almost forces us to think about GW enough to respond about how much we don't care.
So everyone in the DC area calling for us to play GW just stop already, we have a rival and play good teams already we don't need, want, or care about GW. (Notice GW has neither of the two).

Didn't want to start a new thread with this so this is the perfect place I guess. Here's a small part of Jon Siegel's coverage of the George Washington-Fordham game for the Washington Times: Last night at Rose Hill Gym in New York
Seen and Heard
The best taunt of the came from Fordham's student body after GW had put the game away in the final moments. The vocal, red T-shirt-clad group behind the basket started chanting in unison toward a large contingent of GW students, "George-town re-jects." ...

The word here is that 8-10 Colonials marched up towards Georgetown. My roommate saw them on 34th street, chanting, "Hey Georgetown, come play us!" Stellar showing and stellar chant...overwhelming really.

I'm still trying to understand what good it does to walk to the front gates. Perhaps it's the bastards of Alumni Square keeping them from playing us? Maybe it's John Carroll's fault? Are they going to recruit DOPS?
I wish they got squashed by a metro bus.

My roommates and I have been undermining the process for years now. Ever since I got here, I've been trying to prevent the two teams from getting together, and now, they seem to have found me. Dammit!

Question - If a Hoya were foolish enough to want to march to GWU and protest thier protest exactly where would you go? Would you stand outside of the subway stop, the hospital, The Smith Center? Where exactly is the GWU campus? Maybe the best place to go would be to the Mt Vernon campus on Foxhall, but is anyone there?

shouldn't this have gone to pro & college sports? it is about the crosstown basketball team after all.

shouldn't this have gone to pro & college sports? it is about the crosstown basketball team after all. It was a close call. However, the 'protesters' seemed to be making more of an issue their perceived institutional superiority than of their hoops team's fluffed up record. Hence B&G.
