Good, we haven't had a WG thread in at least 2 days. I guess I'll pile on. Wow. I mean, just wow. Can someone leave them a sign at the front gates on your way to the game. Maybe something like, "Inferiority Complex Much?" We'll just leave a box to collect their transfer applications. March 1 deadline, boys and girls. As for Pops, all that means is that one mediocre bubble team ain't gonna make it now that some other mediocre A-10 team will knock of WG for the auto-bid.

Hey! Are we just gonna sit here and let these guys march up to OUR gates. No way, man. Let's stick it to them first. Why don't we get a bunch of people together and we'll march up to THEIR gates. That'll show 'em. Wait a minute, they don't actually have gates, do they? Oh well, nevermind.

Hey Elrod -- you go (or went) to GW. That sort of ends the argument right there, because from everything we read, it's blatantly obvious that everyone either currently at GW or who holds a "degree" from GW wants desperately to be a Hoya. It's understandable, certainly, but nonetheless sad. Why do you keep reminding us?
By the way, have you ever considered having Sally Struthers do your school's ads? Somehow, she just seems right for the job.

Fsohoya, great post. Maybe they can have the same scrolling list of degrees she offers.
Or maybe she would just eat everyone at GW.

The lowest seed we will get is 7th. Sorry that the A10 is not as good as it has been in previous years - you could say the same for the Big East, but you would probably not admit that regardless of fact. If GU loses the rest of its games (you are on a real tear lately), you will be likely to get in at 10th seed yourselves. Pray tell, elrod, how the Big East, which is now looking at 9 teams in the tournament, is not as good as it was in recent years. You mean, besides 9 teams in the top 50 in RPI? Your SOS is #204. Your non-conference SOS is #324. Your best win on the season is Maryland, who won't make the tournament. But you have that GW degree, so it makes it all better, right?

Folks, we have to admit that Lamar has a point about GW having that Metro stop. That puts them right up there with UDC.

FACTS:
GW is a great team that has played poor competition. GTOWN is a great team that has played much better competition. Both teams have a great shot at the sweet 16 If the teams played each other it would likely be an amazing game but its hard to get a read on who would win because GW as of now is very untested.

FACTS: No one knows if WG is a great team, but we do know their schedule is a joke. GTOWN is a great team that's proven it against great competition. GW has a great shot at going out in the first round as a fifth seed. If the teams played each other it would be a sad day to be a Colonial, but, of course, what day isn't?

Folks, I think some of you are missing the point. This has nothing to do with the basketball teams. And there's no point in responding to Elrod or Lamar.
It is just a humiliating article. They are like small children who just want their father's attention. Look at me! I'm good! No really! And I'll prove it! By protesting about a BASKETBALL GAME in front of a bunch of people who have no idea who I am and couldn't care less! Yeah!

It shows me they're scared to show up on GU's campus when anyone who cares about hoops is there.

It was not a very good article, but GW is a terrific team that should make the Sweet 16. And we should play them by gum.

Yeah, but does Foggy Bottom get the same quality of crazy Larouche supporters with tables set up outside the escalator that Van Ness gets? All I ever saw at Foggy Bottom was a guy playing Sax or Trumpet.

Great Lamars Throughout History:
1. Hedley Lamar, arch-villian of Blazing Saddles 2. Lamar, the limp-wristed javelin thrower from Revenge of the Nerds.
That's about it.

TigerHoya, that's not fair. Sometimes there's a lady who sells counterfeit watches at the FB stop.

Do the Princeton Review review ranking not get published in "their Ivory Tower"? And seriously...he wants to brag about a Metro stop...now I know why Georgetown doesn't have one...its to keep the GW kids from having easy access to the Hilltop

I was wondering when Hedly Lamar would get involved in this.

GW has a great shot at going out in the first round as a fifth seed. If the teams played each other it would be a sad day to be a Colonial, but, of course, what day isn't? Seems that everyone outside of the GU campus thinks GW is pretty good. We think you're good too, enough that we want to play you. Seems that you lost three games in a row last week. Two to ranked teams. Seems that regardless of Lamar, our SOS, Lyndon LaRouche, Saxophones, Metro Stops, Pedophiliacs, Sally Struthers, Eating disorders, 1815, 1821 that... ...GW has won 15 in a row, home, away, down at the half, with/without Pops....and GU has won how many in a row? Let's see what happens, only March will tell. Good luck against 'Cuse...they're unranked, you should be able to beat them by what 3 or 4 points? C'mon, now heap obligatory opprobria about GW/WG....

No need. WG heaps more than enough opprobrium on itself.

This thread on the GW board proves my point -- plus it notes that GW's history-in-the-making March on Georgetown is not only during our game against SU, but theirs against Fordham: www.gwhoops.com/default.asp?messID=15211How stupid can one team's fans be!

The lowest seed we will get is 7th. Sorry that the A10 is not as good as it has been in previous years - you could say the same for the Big East, but you would probably not admit that regardless of fact. 2 things: 1. The A-10 is not as good as it has been in recent years, but that doesn't change the fact that, of the part of the schedule that you could control, you played two remotely decent teams (and went 1-1 against them). And your out-of-conference strength of schedule was the 11th-worst in the entire country. 2. If you win out, including the A-10 tournament, the worst you'd get is a 7-seed. Any loss along the way threatens to drop that considerably.
