Sounds like W&M shooting the lights out. What happened with the JTIII technical?

Well, that was weak. Let's blow them out first 10 minutes of the 2nd half.

Summers with 3 fouls, Roy with 2--sounds like that didn't help things because shooting wise--Dajuan was having a strong game. FOULS are going to be a key in any game--but one thing I didn't like reading from yesterday's preview on Roy--the nonsense about the "No Layup" rule--well great--now we've got Roy "sending messages"--how about the message he is going to be needed to be on the floor more this year? I'm all for having Roy's fouls be near the rim and aggressive--but I prefer to have the perimeter guys play some defense and keep them away from the big man. With W&M shooting well from 3 and Hoyas having 2 best players in foul trouble, I'll take the 5 point halftime lead. This is how CBB is--if you get hot from 3--you can hang in games--and I don't have a problem with Hoyas shooting 50% from 3--they were 6-12--it's a matter of HOW those shots come in offense--are they forced or after good ball movement/inside out game? Come out and have a strong 2nd Half --which has been a trait of III's teams--and just play some good basketball without fouling.

Pretty much what I expected across the board. Thought Ewing would have played better, but that's about it. When a team shoots lights out early in the game, it will catch up with them and losing going away is exactly what will happen, and it did.

Game 1 and Sapp, Wallace, Summers, and Hibbert play like returning starters from a Final Four team.
Everyone else, keep working. You'll have to be as good as those four guys come March.
Good win Hoyas, on to Michigan.

Absolutely right HoyaFanNY--nothing else to say--that is far too many 3's when shooting 11-17 from 2 point range--and if it means making an extra pass or so-do it. It is a first game and games are different then any practice session, scrimmage, etc... so I expect to see a lot of improvement on Thursday--but this game against Michigan is going to be a lot tougher then most expect-they have a coach now--and a coach who is familiar with what Hoyas do--so those who expect an easy blowout--get ready for first test of year--it's what you want and how you learn.

Yeah, Michigan will be tough across the board. The home and home return games are always tough. They will remember the pasting, much like Oregon did last year. And, you are right, RDF, Bielein will have them ready. I expect a squeaker.

Summers didn't have the best game, but I guess he was alright. I was particularly impressed with Jessie, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Hey, the opening game against Hartford last season was even closer I just wish that Ewing had gotten on track.
