What a great season, what a fantastic program coach has developed - and what an amazing group of young men, who will continue to do great things on and off the pitch. Proud to be a Hoya fan tonight.

Have loved the Hoyas for more than 40 years. But for the first time I DVR the games, then check the final score to see whether it is worth watching. I can't waste 2 hours of my life watching this mess. The players try hard, but the truth is we have 2 Big East level players surrounded by a host of mid-major level talent. Which leads the 2 BE level guys to force far too many wild drives and prayer shots because they know that no one else can produce. Our junior centers still play at a junior college level at best, no production, no defense. We have no identity at either end. Opponents salivate when they see Georgetown on the schedule. I know we are young. I know it is early. But I have seen no glimpses of promise for the future other than Dante (when he is Good Dante) and Aminu. Over hyped recruits who take 3 or 4 years to develop into passable bench players. Transfers with limited skills and production. Recurrent head scratching coaching decisions.
Loved the BET last year. We caught a ton of breaks and snuck into the NCAA'S just in time to get smoked. And obviously have crash landed repeatedly since.
Lather, Rinse, Repeat. Just so very tired of it.

The administration is never going to get behind the program. Not sure why we still play the game other than "tradition".

Just curious as to what other posters think…what is worse? The Hoyas losing at home to Dartmouth or Eastern Lower Canada Community College losing at home to Colgate? What is worse - your girlfriend dumping you for another guy? Or your girlfriend finding out the guy she dumped you for is married?

As one of possibly two SDSU alums on this Board this is the game I have been dreading for some time. Torn between hoping for a tie and trying to figure out which team needs it more. Think that the Hoyas probably need this win more than SDSU, which plays in a weaker conference and still has a good shot at the tournament. So far SDSU has been predictable (and somewhat disappointing) in that their defense is solid and the key to their success and their offense has been all inside the perimeter. SDSU could be the worst 3 pt shooting team the Hoyas have faced so far, though I did not really check the percentages of other schools. Aztecs are shooting below 30% and winning on the strength of some good inside play, rebounding and tough defense. SDSU is trying to mesh a bunch of new players like the Hoyas and their heralded transfer, Bradley, has been a bit too ball dominant and selfish in hunting shots. Don't see the Aztecs giving Carey or Rice open shots. Won't be going to the SDSU game with a very late start after a day of overeating. Hope that Ewing gets them some late night practice time. . No matter what happens your team will be a winner Cal! Enjoy your holiday.

One of the quickest catch and shoot guys I have seen in a long time. Like many shooters, there will be games when he is off. But you need him to keep shooting (within reason) - one make can suddenly unleash a 4 for 5 streak in 3 minutes that can turn a game around.

Siena coach Carmen Maciarello played for Louis Orr at Siena 21 years ago and describes him as a friend and mentor which is how this game got put together.
He also said he met Patrick after Orr became an assistant, and says of Patrick "He's an NBA Hall of Famer who returns your text message quicker than your own players".

Just lost 82-54 to Yale "Siena fell to 0-3 with its third straight loss by at least 20 points, and you have to go back to the 2012-13 season to find a three-game stretch in which the Saints lost by double digits in each. Then it’s back to 1994-95 for the last three-game losing streak by 20 points in each." dailygazette.com/2021/11/16/yale-takes-it-turn-clobbering-siena-mens-basketball-82-54/Craziest stat from that article might be the attendance...more people showed up to watch Yale at Siena in Albany, NY than showed up to watch American at Georgetown in Washington, DC. Siena had even more roster turnover than we did, and lost most of its scoring. A true rebuilding year. They also draw great up here as the biggest game in town. When they are good they regularly draw 8,000 to 10,000, more for the huge games.

Very hard to be optimistic after this one. Have to wonder what they worked on in practice. No offensive flow, a ton of bad/forced shots. High school teams know enough to shut down the hot outside shooters.
This could get real ugly real fast.

I have been quiet on this as I just wanted to process this and wow just another bad mark on the program and now we went from having a small chance to finish 6th or 7th and make the tournament to likely 10th place. I was very excited going into this season and wanted Ewing to succeed, but there are only so many bad eggs before you gotta question the hen. I don't want this to fail and I am still going to the games but man I honestly will be surprised Ewing is still around for next season If you think Tre King would make a 3 or 4 place difference in the Big East, well, I can't save you man.
