The championship race in Florida is tomorrow. It is on the same course as the pre-Nat race was held, so the Hoyas should be familiar with it. The course is flatter than the NCAA course in the spring. I am hoping both the men and the women improve on their last rankings. Weather should be good.

For the women there should be five intermediate times (1170m, 2000m, 3000m, 4000m, and 5000m) and the final at 6000m.

It looks as if the women finished 18th, the same placing that they did in the spring XC with Maggie finishing 24th (All American) in the team standings (30th overall with individual runners thrown in.

Kiera had a tough race. If she ran as she has been running all season, we might have finished 13th or 14th.

It was a fast race, Maggie finishing under 20 minutes and Sami just one second over. Yeah I'm watching on ESPNU, and it was wild seeing splits almost reminiscent of a track 5K. Tangentially related note: The hated Cuse finished 30th

And the women beat Nova. The Hoyas beat five teams that were ranked ahead of them in the last poll and only one team (Washington), who was ranked below the women, finished ahead of them.

The woman, who won the Mid-Atlantic region, Ceili McCabe, finished 3rd. BYU might have the two individual champions today as Whittni Orton of BYU won today, and Conner Mantz of BYU is the favorite in the men's race.

The race should be a good one for first with NAU, BYU, Notre Dame, and Colorado all having a chance for the win.

The men are 24th at 1170m; probably a good start, not too fast.
