The mods have an almost impossible balancing to perform. They do a great job, although they would agree there is no perfect answer. It is a shame to lose a valuable contributor like YaBoy, it diminishes the board. Hopefully he comes back.

If it's up to me we'd need at least 8-10 BE wins and at least one BET win AND some indication that the program was trending upward (e.g. no major transfers and good recruiting class). But knowing the GU administration I'd bet 5-6 BE wins would be enough to let Ewing ride out his contract extension. My head agrees with the bar you set, but my heart can't disagree with the opinion that after the minimal accomplishments of the last 5 years, especially coupled with last year's disaster, and with the upgraded roster, an NCAA bid should be the required result. |

Add California Baptist to the list of programs that apparently does social media better than Georgetown. Easier to list those that don’t. CIA Training Academy is the only one that comes to mind. |

My guess is yes. Because Turgeon was fired/resigned, he should be able to move freely without having to sit out a year. Don’t think it works like that since he already took his free year, thinking the NCAA has to crack down on something The NCAA has already announced that it will limit student-athletes to ONE topping at any ice cream-related on-campus food service location. That is we enough hard-hitting crackdown for one year. |

Go back to the NIL thread on the main page. Schools can absolutely facilitate NIL opportunities - look at DFW'S link to TCU already having a program in place last September.
And how many people on this thread complained at length that Georgetown seemed averse to playing the NIL "game"? So now they recognize the need and there are complaints and unsupported accusations about that.

I am not by any means suggesting that there are no Hoyas - and very likely the majority of them - who are solely in it for the basketball. But there are still kids who know basketball will not be their end game and who actually do value the Georgetown degree. |

Wishcasting on recruits has a long and storied tradition here. It’s part of fandom. I’m more interested in why he left because I think he would have a role. Of course, we will never know that. Of course it is - but it's completely hypocritical to hype up guys when we're recruiting them, then come back when they leave and say they were never that good in the first place. It's a classic move used by the Ewing/Thompson-first fans. If you check out other message boards, fans of pretty much every team do the same thing. Trying to couch it as a Georgetown exclusive is a big stretch. |
