Will be an awesome road trip to Waco. No, Baylor is in Waco. SMU is in Dallas.

The most delusional fan there was the one who had the sign that said "Georgetown was my safety school." I wonder if there is anyone in history who got into SU but not GU. Unfortunately, Chris Joseph.

A significant part of our success tonight will depend on the quality of our turnovers, not just the volume of turnovers. Where Syracuse can destroy you is with turnovers (and blocked shots) that lead to run outs. Consequently, we need to avoid interceptions at the top of the key - a Gregg Whittington special - like the plague.
Dead ball turnovers - walks, balls thrown out of bounds, even offensive fouls - won't kill us if they are not too numerous. But Syracuse's game plan is predicated on not having to play half court offense where we - and they - are roughly evenly matched.

The comparisons between Syracuse and the Gaza strip are not off-base in the least. Aren't these comparisons an insult to the Gaza Strip?

I think the trophy should be the chair that Jim Boeheim knocked over in his press conference after the Orange lost the Big East Final in overtime to the eventual National Champion Hoyas.
the trophy could be jointly presented each year by Michael Graham and Andre Hawkins.

We are 1 point underdogs and in every simulation I have seen they all have us losing by 1-3 points. So look at it as a game we are supposed to lose so dont overreact if we do (I know good luck with that). Their is a reason Vegas and all the simulations have us losing. I am not exactly sure what it is but those guy tend to be pretty smary. That being said I hope we win by 10 and we dont have to sweat another close one. For as happy I am with this team they sure are nerve racking! What simulations are you talking about? Pomeroy and Sagarin have us winning by 5 and 6 respectively.

And, let's be honest, the refs saved us today. Were the FT attempts statistics reversed, this board would be apoplectic. And rightly so. Glad for the win. Very concerned about the team at the moment. Well I agree with you that the board would be apoplectic if the free throw stats were reversed in a game in which THE HOYAS BIG MEN WERE HELD ON EVERY POSSESSION. Mike Rice wasn't complaining much because he knew that the fouls were part of Rutger's game plan.

I had to have a Sweetney team. And I liked the NIT run. And its only Honorable Mention.

I will reserve judgement until the season is over, but I am confident that this Hoya team is going to crash my top ten list of favorites, I just don't know where.
As of right now, my list includes:
1.) 1984. National Championship and the best Hoya defensive team ever. 2.) 1987. Reggie and the Miracles. 9-1 against top 25 teams. Perry McDonald intimidating Rony Seikaly (we beat them three times) with the typical lineup being Reggie, a 6-4 Perry McDonald, a just-emerged sophomore Charles Smith and Freshmen Dwayne Brant and Mark Tillmon. 3.) 1982. The world learns about the Hoyas (and is doomed to watch Michael Jordan's winning shot a zillion times). 4.) 1985. Our most dominant team overall. Damn you Villanova. 5.) 2007. The most relentlessly efficient offensive machine in Hoya history. Comeback victory over UNC in Regional final as good a win as we have ever had. 6.) 1978. My senior year. We lose Derrick Jackson and miss the NCAAs but are good enough to make an NIT final without our best player. 7.) 1980. Duren, Sleepy and Sky and a Final Four we could have won. 8.) 1989. A freshman Alonzo blocking everything in sight and Charles Smith as Big East MVP. I hate Danny Ferry. 9.) 2006. Renaissance. Beat #1 Duke and played Florida closer in the Sweet 16 than any of their other NCAA games in their back to back championship years. 10.) 1996. Inconsistent, but overwhelmingly explosive at their best.
Honorable Mention: 1975, 1977, 1979, 1990, 1997, 2001, 2003, 2008.

I will be there with my son (MSB12). I couldn't let the hillbillies leave without visiting their lair.

This may be the second glass of 30 year old Glenfiddich talking, but I am ready to elevate Greg into the exclusive pantheon of superlative Hoya defenders. The big six have been Patrick, Zo, Dikembe, Gene Smith, David Wingate and A.I.. I think the club has a seventh member.

You may be looking at an old version. He now has us as a #3, which I think is right if the selection committee made its picks tonight Oops, you are correct. Although it is strange that it linked to an old version from the ESPN front page.
