ASU 95 Kansas 85 Nobody likes an "I told you so" but I can't resist pointing out that on 2/18/SIXTEEN I suggested Bobby Hurley as a coach for us. The idea that Bobby Hurley would have left Arizona State for Georgetown is laughable, so I am not sure who you are telling "I told you so." He is from the East, his family is here, he is (or was, at the time) being paid one third of what Georgetown was in the habit of paying its basketball coach. What, exactly, makes the idea "laughable"?

A question for the Accounting/Legal types among you:
A Villanova alum and season ticket holder told me that the pice of a season ticket was $900. but that a "donation" of an identical amount was required for the privilege of purchasing the season ticket; the thing differentiating it from an $1800 season ticket being the tax deductible nature of the "donation". However if this "donation" is a sine qua non of purchasing a season ticket it seems to me that must be construed to be a part of the ticket cost. Can something be considered a charitable donation if it is compulsory?

Promotions are tacky and unbecoming. Win games and you won't need them.

From a legal perspective, do you go after the families that accepted the money for tax evasion? Surely, they declared it.

350 but I only went to one of them. Georgetown basketball is Georgetown basketball. The jerseys do not read "Thompson". It is time to accept that that era is over. Until that is recognized we will be mediocre at best.

I suppose all this will end some day. I only wish I could have lived to see it. Total failure on the part of the Administration beginning with the search.

Not that I condone a Ronny Thompson hire in ANY manner - but the rumors Ive heard have been in a DOBO type role. If his job is limited to travel logistics and on-campus recruitment calendars, etc. - then Im not too concerned about it. It would get him off television. 😀

Remind me. Where did he do his undergraduate work? Oh yeah. Maybe Hal Cohen and Marty Headd can round out the staff.

He talked about "their vision" and "my vision". If the two don't jive guess whose vision wins.

I thought he did well. He gave me reason to be optimistic. He understands about bringing in the talent and will be a taskmaster.
