Isn't Trump worse than Jimmy, Jim and Tammy Faye? They may have been con artists, but they at least had some devotion to the Bible, didn't they? Unlike Trump. He's certainly worse than Oral Roberts, who has a legitimate college named for him (see Trump University).

When was the Key Bridge Marriott demolished? And what is the ongoing litigation about?

Lampkin just posted an image of a meal at Nobu in NYC. So I am not sure he'll be announcing the commitment imminently. I guess we will see. Pitino! That would seem to follow, wouldn't it?

These things tend to happen in critical games. Patrick would be NBA World Champion but John Starks goes 2-18 in game 7 of the NBA Finals. The main problem for Marquette though was that NC State disrupted their offense with Diarra and Burns. Igororo was ineffective which led to a breakdown of their system and they just resorted to throwing up 3s cause they couldn’t attack the basket. I do recall that John Starks game, but the big problem for Marquette was that they contracted a serious case of Hoya Disease.

This is all so draining. Elvado (or others), do you have a bridge too far? Is it 95 felony charges so 91 is all good? You're sticking with the (lie), "I'm writing in" my vote? If so, have at it. At what point do you folks start rebuking the death of your former party and find your collective backbone to make a stand? If it's not now, when? I can only surmise that the answer is never since your former party doesn't actually stand for any of the things you folks say you support. Fiscal conservatism? No. Family values? Nope. Is it just the authoritarianism, xenophobia and racism that you like? Or, do you only like one or two of those things? Your exceedingly tenuous grasping to the Biden mental capacity or truthfulness part is hilarious and pathetically transparent. *Edit: Elvado, I don't mean to target you specifically. But, sadly, you're the only poster that seems to respond from the Right (RIP, EasyEd). FWIW, I respect that you do even if, at times, I vehemently disagree with your views. Please continue to post even if it seems as though you're peeing into the wind. happyhoya says hello.

It's hard to figure this stuff. Alabama was probably playing their worst basketball of the season coming into the tournament, and Clemson lost by 20 to BC in the ACC tournament. And now they're playing for a spot in the Final Four. Are we sure this isn't the Sugar Bowl?

I'm just surprised that this wasn't Harold J. Trump's (that's a reference to The Music Man, for you youngsters out there) pitch: Hey, everyone! Get your Bibles, personally autographed by Jesus, for only $2,000 each! Order now, as supplies are limited! This is a one time offer, so hurry! HURRY!

The last bipartisan politician? "His transition from Al Gore’s running mate in 2000 on the Democratic ticket to high-profile cheerleader for Republican presidential candidate John McCain eight years later was a turnaround unmatched in recent American politics...McCain seriously considered making Mr. Lieberman his running mate, but his advisers warned that Mr. Lieberman’s Democratic history and voting record, particularly his stand in favor of abortion rights, would anger convention delegates and split the party. McCain instead chose the right-wing populist governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin, a decision he later said he regretted." www.washingtonpost.com/obituaries/2024/03/27/joe-lieberman-senator-vice-president-dead/Can't imagine why he might have regretted that decision. It's of course impossible to say what McCain, if still alive, might have had to say about Trump this year, but I strongly suspect he would be found in the Liz Cheney faction of the Republican Party.

He was right, though. As happy as I was to see the Clippers win, the refs blew that call bigtime, and I guess they admitted as much.

Ronna, we hardly knew ye! Bye bye !! She lasted 1/2 of a Scaramucci! Now NBC should fire whoever hired the lying POS. NBC reverses decision to hire Ronna McDaniel after on-air backlash Amid a chorus of on-air protest from some of the network’s biggest stars, NBC announced Tuesday night that former Republican National Committee chair Ronna McDaniel will no longer be joining the network as a paid contributor. In a memo, NBCUniversal News Group Chairman Cesar Conde told staff he had listened to “the legitimate concerns” of many network employees. “No organization, particularly a newsroom, can succeed unless it is cohesive and aligned,” he wrote. “Over the last few days, it has become clear that this appointment undermines that goal.” www.washingtonpost.com/style/media/2024/03/26/nbc-drops-ronna-mcdaniel-backlash/Just another witch hunt against poor Ronna.

There's a sucker born every minute and it is most likely a MAGA GOP cultist. Go ahead morons. Buy your "Bible" from the Grifter. “Happy Holy Week!” Trump’s post said. “Let’s Make America Pray Again. As we lead into Good Friday and Easter, I encourage you to get a copy of the God Bless The USA Bible.” He tagged musician Lee Greenwood in the post because the “God Bless the USA” singer is also touted as an endorser on the product’s webpage. The promoted Bible has not only the standard books, but also a few additions including the Constitution (“which I’m fighting for every single day very hard,” Trump says in a video attached to the post), the Pledge of Allegiance and, as the webpage touts, the “[h]andwritten chorus to ‘God Bless The USA’ by Lee Greenwood.” It was originally slated for release in 2021, but an outcry from a number of prominent Christians derailed the rollout. That was then. The current website for the book includes an FAQ that addresses the question of how the former president benefits from the partnership. It assures visitors that no money from the sale of the Bibles will go to Trump’s political campaign. Instead, “GodBlessTheUSABible.com uses Donald J. Trump’s name, likeness and image under paid license from CIC Ventures LLC, which license may be terminated or revoked according to its terms.” CIC Ventures, though, is a conduit to Trump — personally, if not politically. In his financial disclosure released last year, he's identified as the company's “manager, president, secretary and treasurer” and the Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust is identified as a 100 percent owner of the business. The same entity also receives royalties from his book “A MAGA Journey” and speaking engagements. The Associated Press asked how much Trump was making on the deal without receiving a response. In retrospect, we might have predicted this particular business venture. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/03/26/trump-bible-sales-money/Yep, just another con job. They're endless.

Texas! Yee Haw! This passes for "leadership" in MAGAland Texas. The MAGA GOP is not exactly the rule ofl law party now, is it? HOUSTON — Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R), a conservative firebrand acquitted last year in a historic impeachment trial, has reached an agreement with prosecutors to avoid trial on long-standing state felony securities fraud charges. Paxton was charged nearly a decade ago, accused of defrauding investors at a Dallas-area tech company by not disclosing that he was paid by the company to recruit them. The case has been delayed for years by pretrial disputes over the trial’s location and special prosecutors’ fees. Under the agreement reached in Harris County district court on Tuesday, prosecutors would dismiss felony charges against Paxton if he successfully completes community service and advanced legal education classes and pays restitution of about $300,000. He had previously pleaded not guilty. www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2024/03/26/ken-paxton-deal-texas-securities-charges/"Delayed for years." Sounds like a Trump game plan.

Normalizing and validating stupidity is awful for all of us. "Republicans" calling such things "freedom" is worse. My immediate reaction upon reading Dan's post was WTF? I hope Republicans aren't actually supporting this as freedom. This is outrageous.

NJ Democratic machine fails in backing erstwhile Republican. Tammy Murphy, wife of New Jersey governor, drops out of U.S. Senate race Murphy grew up a Republican and had made large donations to George W. Bush’s presidential campaigns, but had earned the support of many establishment Democrats in the state. Kim had been consolidating support from grass-roots Democrats. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/03/24/murphy-senate-new-jersey-dropout/Haven't really been following this, but if she and Menendez are both out, who is left?

Sort of similar until one realizes that Smith was 350 pounds and DJ Burns is 275 pounds. Interestingly, Smith got his weight down to 290 with the Nagoya Diamond Dragons and is still playing as of 2023! It's like saying Zach Edey reminds me of Roy Hibbert except that Edey is 7' 4" tall. Is the NBA in the cards for Edey? With all this greatness, defense remains the swing skill for the NBA. The league has gone away (ran away would be more accurate) from players in his mold. It’s sometimes hard to remember how recently and abruptly this has happened. Less than 8 years ago, 7’2 Pacers center Roy Hibbert (here’s a blast from the past for you) was an all-star and finished second in the defensive player of the year vote. Two years later, Hibbert became unplayable and was washed out of the NBA. And this was not (primarily) because of his offense, which was always limited, but because of how swiftly the league has altered, transforming players like Hibbert from defensive assets to defensive liabilities in the span of just two seasons (Cavs 7’1 center Timofey Mozgov can tell a similar story at about the same time). www.onpointbasketball.com/the-future-of-canadian-basketball-in-the-paint-part-3-zach-edey/Except that Timofey Mosgov wasn't near the player that Roy was. Still the worst free agent signing ever by the Lakers. When I heard that the Lakers had signed him, I thought it was as a backup, but when I saw what they were paying him, I about puked. And I was right, Mitch was wrong.
