... and local to Georgetown: Christ Church is an Episcopal church. The use of the word "priest" may confuse readers who assume it is Catholic. The Church of England uses that nomenclature as well.
Not sure why "church is cancelled" in that the Episcopal diocese should have replacement clergy available to sit in. -- Admin

I fail to see any humor here. It’s funny in that ironic sort of way. I have exactly zero sympathy for the people who have enabled and co-signed on Trump antics so much that he can openly lie to the American people about an emerging pandemic without any pushback. Trump called it a hoax, and now that hoax has become very real despite Trump’s denials. Another ironic note, his base (older Americans) seems to be the most at risk and he simply cares nothing for them. He clearly only sees people as numbers that reflect only upon him. I feel sorry for the people his incompetence has exposed to this virus who have done absolutely nothing to deserve this. The only thing more fitting would be if that hoax made its way into the White House.

Trish Regan thinks it's a political problem. It's not as though she's come to that conclusion without any prompting from the person who is supposed to be leading the country and ensuring the safety and health of its citizens.

🤦🏾♂️
For weeks, thousands of flu samples sat in Seattle as researchers sought to test and flag them for coronavirus. The C.D.C. wouldn’t allow it.
When testing did happen, it was too late. The virus was upon us.
“The failure to tap into the flu study was just one in a series of missed chances by the federal government to ensure more widespread testing during the early days of the outbreak, when containment would have been easier”

Will they return? This is not an entirely rhetorical question.

Will they return? This is not an entirely rhetorical question. Word I have heard is this is for a minimum of 2 weeks and there will be ongoing reassessment. Honestly, I cannot see the 'environment' improving to the point that they would have students move back in at a time that would be reasonable to complete the semester (disclaimer: I am an Infectious Disease Physician and the parent of a current student that lives on campus). Too many moving parts to properly assess if this is a short-term response, or semester-long. It is definitely the right decision in any event.
