It's a joke mocking the original, big guy.
Sheesh, when did everyone get so darn serious around here?[/quote]

Nice to read these quotes that show these are two intelligent guys taking full and appropriate advantage of the process and opportunity they have yet realizing what a great situation they are currently in. Like guru, I have to wonder where was Mr. Hoya Access when these quotes and insights were available to be written about?

The only thing this article makes clear is that Barker Davis is a Editeding idiot. What a load of crap that piece he wrote the other day was. Oh, and you can quote me on that when you troll the board for story angles, Barker. Ha! Barker always does such a great job during the year, but that article really did read like a compendium of HoyaTalk draft posts, except that it was even more speculative than we are. A rare miss by Barker, but boy does he miss by a wide margin.

Clark Francis seems to think GU will be good either way: Georgetown may lose 7'2 Jr Roy Hibbert and 6'9 Jr Jeff Green to the NBA Draft this spring, but 6'9 Frosh Vernon Macklin is right on schedule in terms of growing into the center position Vernon is shrinking?!

He's sticking to his guns apparently. Ok, I understand Barker feels that his sources are good on this. However, I have wanted a specific BMW for a while and ocassionally skipped class at GU. I also would discuss cars with classmates. This does not mean that I am going to the NBA. What does it mean? Anyone who has goals and drive like Jeff and Roy also has things that they want to do in life - buy a really sweet car - and if they're as cool about it as Jeff they'll discuss it in public. That doesn't mean that they've made up their mind though. If he's driving around in the car, then I'll believe what Barker's been hinting at - that may be denial, but i'm going to need a little more proof.

Anyone notice the caption on the NCAA page today?
Having lost Roy Hibbert, Georgetown is keeping its fingers crossed as Jeff Green said Tuesday there is a "70-30" chance he will return.

Not surprised these guys are approaching this the right way, but I am a little surprised that their decisions seem to be independent of each other. Given they are good friends, I thought for sure if one left the other would follow and vice versa.
With no reason to do it and probably more of a reason not to do it prior to speaking with the NBA types, Green has basically shown his cards. Reading between the lines, I think unless a team says they will take him in the Top 5, he is likely coming back.

For anyone who read's the WaPo Express in the morning, it appears that the AP editors have left a quote out of the story.
In the print version, this is the paragraph that preceeds the "school is only going to be here four years" quote....
"Green, while saying his decision could go either way, said it won't necessarily be swayed by the chance to make his millions a year earlier. Told that many people wouldn't be able to resist such a temptation, he said: "I'm different from those people."
Try to keep from letting the man-crush overcome you after reading that.

Sounds like nothing is decided at this point. We'll have to wait and see. But at least this article can shut up some of the "they're definately gone" folks. It seems pretty clear that at this point Jeff and Roy don't even know what they will do.

I think it's a 50/50 decision no matter what--you either stay or leave--but I appreciate both guys for giving their insights as of right now. Great to hear that no matter what they'll get degrees--which is very cool and could be seen as not a priority given the money they'll make.
I'll put it this way--a lot of time for both kids to explore their options and make informed decision--which is why it's so smart of them to enter without signing with an agent. That is what I would advise anyone who isn't a guaranteed top 3 pick--don't limit your options before you know whether you can improve upon them.
If both kids return to Hoyas next year--this is the best team since '85--can't say '84 because they won it all--and that would need to be duplicated to earn that comparison. If 1 of them return, it's still a National Championship contender. Majority would return and you add Wright, Freeman, and Wattad for certain--and possibly Nikita--he's not officially signed yet, so going to hold off until it's official. The fact you have talent/depth makes you better due to competition at practice as much as anything--kids go at it and compete for minutes, and can give you better looks then majority of opponents you face in games.
As a fan who thinks both can improve their status for NBA by returning, I'm just thankful they are taking their time and making an informed decision. I realize we have no say--nor should we in these things--but you appreciate the kids who play for team and want the best for them and I don't want to see them short changed in any way--want them to get the maximum amount of money they can and be ready to make much more in future. Good luck to both of them and should be a wild next Month watching how things unfold.
