The good news: JTIII (slash Falk) seems to be the guy with the most pull here (along with JT surely).
So they're not getting some shark talking about how one of his clients tore his "medium compatible liniment" and missed out on millions or how "you're ready now, you want those cars, right buddy?"
The fact that Agent Brook Barringer has not been assigned to the case is promising. These kids know that being ready to ACTUALLY PLAY NBA ball is more important than just getting to the league and "starting the meter." That's a good sign that no matter what the final outcome, it's well thought out and not based on some bogus sales pitch.

shun me i guess.
but i agree with you Giga...based on their quotes it seems like all the right considerations are in their minds as to making the ultimate decision. I mean things we have talked about on here, like Roy not wanting to sit on the end of the bench, or jeff having a couple aspects of his game that still need work...
hope-inspiring words, but still just words.

Either way, they're both saying, "I don't know". I seriously doubt Zogby polled Jeff and Roy's various brain sections, and that the polling is accurate to +/-3%. "Jeff Green's Cerebrum was conflicted, with the right side believing as likely occurances both the Wooden and Naismith awards, a National Championship and perhaps an undefeated season. The left side of Green's Cerebrum was more focused on compound interest rates on potential NBA first year bonuses, setting up tax shelters, and putting Jeff's money to work in a diversified portfoliio of equity and real estate investments, as well as charitable trusts and annuities focused on his families' long term security. The overwhelming response from Jeff's Cerebellum was concerned with, no matter the outcome, that Jeff looked good doing it".
Anyhoo, for anyone surprised that money, bling and professional status aren't irresistable to these two well rounded student-athletes, you clearly haven't been paying attention.
Sheesh, desperation makes me obnoxious

Nice to hear or see in print. This will be a roller coaster ride until the drop out day. But the quotes indicate that both will make a very reasoned decision. Again both gain experience coming back, and Roy recognized that (I don't want to sit at the end of the bench, but would rather get another year of experience). If we had won the NCAAs, it probably would be 10-90 on both, but I think they would be very happy at trying to get the championship, especially for JTIII. And you don't put a price on staying an extra year at GU. I am sure most of us alums would give many paychecks to be back enjoying the days of our youth (ok most of you are still youths) at the Hilltop.

The highlight of this for me was Roy setting his sights on the top 3 and not wanting to settle for mid-lottery.

The only thing this article makes clear is that Barker Davis is a Editeding idiot. What a load of crap that piece he wrote the other day was. Oh, and you can quote me on that when you troll the board for story angles, Barker. Ha!

Someone made a brilliant post earlier this week about how watching Jeff and Roy feel out their draft prospects is like how you feel when your girlfriend is going to Europe for the summer. This feels like her reassurance at the airport when you drop her off. She tells you she is totally into you and will be thinking about you all summer long. But she still gets on that plane, and as much as you appreciate that reassurance, she is still spending the summer in Europe and you have no idea what is going to happen.
I love reading quotes like this from Jeff and Roy, but it's gonna be a long summer (that is from now until June 18).

If Roy and Jeff get an STD in Rome from some guy named Antonio who claimed to be an aspiring painter, we'll still gladly take them back for a shot at the title.

Very interesting:
Who declares that they are 70-30 coming back this early in the process? It would seem to really under-cut your own draft status at this point before any individual workouts have happened.
If Jeff or Roy comes back the pressure is really on the other one to stay because that would mean a #1 ranking and great shot at a title.
So basically, this could be like having your girlfriend go to Europe for the summer. See some guy in a couple of facebook photos - you get a little nervous and then when she come back you don't ask her what happened because you don't want to know.

If anyone starts eating bananas again, I may hurl. Why too much potassium already? Is this article just a case of Roy and Jeff saying all the right things or am I the only one who thinks that Roy and Jeff's quotes indivate that they are thinking the same things that we've all been saying about getting a degree no matter what and the draft next year being a much better one for them to be in?

I think it shows that Roy and Jeff are two good guys who are considering all the angles and have their heads screwed on right. I am sure that they are also very confused as to what they should do (I know I would be), and I bet the percentages they cite probably change hour-by-hour (understandable so). Some very tough decisions...

Clark Francis seems to think GU will be good either way:
Georgetown may lose 7'2 Jr Roy Hibbert and 6'9 Jr Jeff Green to the NBA Draft this spring, but 6'9 Frosh Vernon Macklin is right on schedule in terms of growing into the center position and the backcourt should be dramatically improved with the addition of 6'5 Austin Freeman from Hyattsville (DeMatha) MD and 6'0 Chris Wright from Washington (St. John's) DC, who promise to be two of the best freshmen in the league next year.
