Two scrimmage victories over Power 5 teams should portend success in the early non-conference schedule.

Biggest takeaway from afar, assist, Sorber leading the way, that can’t happen

Biggest takeaway from afar, assist, Sorber leading the way, that can’t happen I prefer 11 boards for Burks, 9 for Sorber. Not sure assists are always credited correctly in a scrimmage. Also 22 points for Peavy, guess he can score a little after all. UVA leading scorer had 10.

Biggest takeaway from afar, assist, Sorber leading the way, that can’t happen 2 of 21 from 3 will do that…

Also McKenna not getting much run after having a year with the program. Burks rebounding stats may explain why he is getting the majority of the PF mins.

Epps had 7 points on 2-12, and we won. That box score is pretty ugly.
2 points from the bench.
If Peavy and Burks play like this, we will have great year.

25 rebounds in 2 games from Burks. If he comes even close to that production in real games he will be playing a ton.

4-48 across both teams from 3. Total brickfest.

Looks like Dante Harris is not playing for Virginia. Also looks like Cooley has already shortened his rotation.

I'm assuming Mulready wasn't available today? I was hopeful that he would be part of the rotation.

I think several of the DNPs are players being held out to get healthily. Though I expect Epps, Mack, and Peavy to be 30-32 mpg based on Colley’s interview this week. If Burk is getting 8 and 11 then he will get a ton of minutes. And then you have the 3 headed monster at center. I’m a little worried that Curtis, Caleb, and McKenna appeared to do almost nothing in their minutes.

Looks like Dante Harris is not playing for Virginia. Also looks like Cooley has already shortened his rotation. Harris entered the transfer portal after last season, then withdrew, but Bennett had already committed his scholarship. He was expected to be a fifth year walk on, but was not added to the final 2024-25 roster. There is an unconfirmed story on a Virginia message board suggesting Harris has now reentered the portal after Bennett's departure, but he is not publicly listed as such at this time.
