...and Villanova loses another Philly 5 game. St. Joe's is preseason number 3 in the A-10 (which I've always thought of as Big East Jr.) and it's at their place, but I really don't see how Neptune survives past this season. TBC, I have no particular grudge with him, it's just hard to believe their program has fallen off this much in this short a time.

I thought this Xavier team and Freemantle were overhyped going into the season, given their incoming freshman and transfer classes and reliance on a guy coming back from a season ending injury. Granted its a home game versus Jackson State, but they look very good so far and I can see why he was preseason first team All-Big East.
The bad losses by some of the Big East teams are definitely gonna hurt the NET for the conference but the top four seem pretty clear and good bets to make it to March.

Sean Miller chose to go the opposite of Cooley and has a roster with (if I'm counting correctly) 7 grads, 3 seniors, 4 juniors, and 2 sophomores. Miller went with experience, while Cooley went with hopeful retention of freshmen and development. We'll see how it works out for them and for us. goxavier.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/2024-25?path=mbball

There are almost no guarantees.

There are almost no guarantees. With 7 grads and 3 seniors, Miller knows what’s happening to 10 of his players after this season, so there’s no “hopeful retention” of those players. With only 1 senior or grad playing for GU, Cooley is the opposite.

The big pickup is Ryan Conwell from Indiana St. He is an explosive scorer who can shoot.

With the lack of a strong OOC schedule, we need for big East teams to keep their RPIs up. Root for big East when we aren’t playing them

This is the exact message Pitino consistently stated about Wilcher, Ejiofor & Dunlap last season and all 3 came back, now he's doing it for Glover & Prey.
The lesson to be learned may be that public displays of confidence or belief by the HC may carry a lot of weight with young players who aren't getting PT.

Ricky definitely knows how to navigate loyalty, or lack thereof ... he's perfect for the NIL/transfer portal world.

Big game for Seton Hall against Hofstra, the season could get very late early with another mid major loss..

Mediocre Kyle Neptune, hahahaahaahaa. (Stephen A Smith cackle) Well, at least he was thankfully the head coach when Sorber was a high schooler in his backyard.

Hopefully, Sorber is to Villanova what Jason Hart was to Georgetown.

Hopefully, Sorber is to Villanova what Jason Hart was to Georgetown. Did Sorber ever visit Nova? I thought Sorber was a PC lean prior to Cooley & staff coming to Gtown
