Missed most of the first half, so I probably missed those pulls. Didn't notice it happening afterwards (game log suggests he never subbed out in the second half), but I could have missed something. Having missed the early part of the game, I'm guessing that Brumbaugh was deemed ineffective against the Johnnies? He got pulled early in the second half, after fouling the three point shooter, and never returned. Maybe contributed to the 0-10 start? Speaking of that foul, I didn't have a good look at it live (corner of my eye as I was speaking to someone) and was hoping for a replay that they never showed. My impression of the angles made it seem like it might have been a hold-the-leg-out-for-the-foul type of move by the shooter. Did anyone see either way? Cooley was very upset with brumbaugh for the one legged fadeaway he took in the first half. Cooley ripped him at the start of the timeout after that shot and Brumbaugh tried to plead his case but Cooley walked away. Then Cooley got really upset again when Brumbaugh turned over the ball on an in bounds play under our own basket. That pretty much ended his day Thanks. I can't help but think of Ewing yelling at MD something like, "Do you practice that shot?!?" without listening to him. I think he lost him, if not more of the team, in that moment. Hope the same is not the case with Cooley/Brumbaugh.

I thought that you highlighted one of Ewing's rare moments of coaching excellence. I wish Cooley would exhibit some of the same toughness on EPPS as he did to Brumbaugh. To have a real view (which none of us probably do), we'd have to have an inside view of the team, personalities, and Cooley's day to day coaching style.
If all of our players don't improve "a lot" there is really no point to what we are doing as a program. Whether his syle vs each player is effective or not I guess we'll see next year.

One of the few games I have seen this year. Discouraging to be behind by 10 to start. It didn't seem that the Hoyas would ever score. From then on the Hoyas made a game out of it. Some careless plays did not help. But I like Fielder! Too bad he got caught up in foul trouble. But a good game to watch, but I missed the last 7 minutes, because my tape ran out. I would have been frustrated anyway. Well then, you missed the best three point shooting by the Hoyas in decades! Just hoping that this is all a warm up to tournament play. Actually, I found the missing seven minutes as I taped the "post game" show in addition to the game, which ran over. So, yes, I was able to see all those threes by the Hoyas. Normally those would win the game, but nothing is normal this season with the Hoyas.
