I don't think it's UVA. Chance Mallory is gonna end up there if Bennett doesn't retire. Well Maryland is expected to hire Team Thrills AAU coach so Mallory might end up in College Park now. So I stand corrected. I’d think Mallory and Lewis could play in the same backcourt, also. Different sizes and playing styles.

Wash. Post’s All-Met team officially out in today’s paper (March 27): Both Lewiss (Nyk and Acaden) on it, as well as Caleb Williams. Jordan Scott (who I think a Junior target as well) is too. Paul 6’s Darren Harris (Duke commit) Player of the Year. 9 players named overall on the first team

Thanks for posting the link, which I didn’t have access to. “Only” 9 players on “first team” as it turns out (plus the coach).

Another member Hammond is a URI commit and was rumored to follow one of their assistant coach’s if we has hired as a AC.

Saw a video interview a week back in which he said the fall before the season starts.

Would be very surprised if Team Durant allows him to go to Georgetown with the Kenny Johnson hire. Only way this happens is if Lewis moves from Team Durant to TTO - in which case, we'll get him.

Would be very surprised if Team Durant allows him to go to Georgetown with the Kenny Johnson hire. Only way this happens is if Lewis moves from Team Durant to TTO - in which case, we'll get him. Both are Nike programs and Georgetown is too, quite often Nike will step in and sort it out. The last 4 to 5 years TTO has been not getting the top players in the DMV as it is hands down Team Durant. Team Durant not only seriously takes much better care of their players with work out facilities, nutrition, training, and travel, but the program is heavily focussed on getting its players in to the best schools they can through highlighting all the players (they have tight rotations to ensure all players get their minutes and do the best with those minutes they can). Team Durant players have the lines of recruiters after games. With the limited minutes and great trainers and facilities they have seemed to have limited injuries. Most often, even in monitored minutes the players hit their stat goals. While their pure focus isn't on just winning, the are highly successful in tournaments. It is an insanely well crafted program. Takeover focusses on winning and will push five or six players hard to get a win. Most of the top TTO players end up at Team Durant. TTO likes to beat Team Durant, but the Durant players head to the better college programs and have no problem getting the best players. Durant also keeps their players, every other program is a step down. Part of it is having St. James as their training facilities, but everything they do is at that level, including coaches (they have at least a couple who work with Team USA in addition to TD teams). If KJ pulls clownshow Takeover garbage the Hoyas program is in serious trouble. Takeover coaches are tough recruiters, which they know the players at TD and seem to have kept good relationships. Takeover recruits hard and wide, but they know the players far beyond their own program. Using that connection knowing who is good and having the ability to reach out really helps. KJ has been away from TTO for a while and pulls players from elsewhere, not just the DVM and not just TTO.

Having watched Acaden at Sidwell with Caleb i was insanely impressed. Acaden makes other teams look silly, and when one of them is Gonzaga, and their top point guard (whom Acaden defended really well) it is really impressive. Acaden has incredibly good shot selection, great passing, high ball IQ, really good handles, and can run transition and half court as point really well. His family is really interested in Georgetown and it seems like he has been too. I really hope EC has Acaden as a top priority. The only player I've seen close to what saw Acaden do is Mikey Lewis at the Capital Classic who is heading to St. Mary's Gaels and was top scorer at the CC.

"ACADEN LEWIS - TEAM DURANT Acaden Lewis was my personal pick for the top overall performer over the weekend. Lewis was deemed a stock riser for his play with Sidwell Friends and is carrying that into the spring. Lewis is a high level defender but he showed more of his takeover ability and scoring from all three levels this past weekend. Although Lewis is a high level scorer he still made a point to get his teammates involved and compete defensively. Lewis is currently on a visit to Virginia and is in the process of rescheduling his Georgetown visit." hoyatalk2.proboards.com/thread/33695/acaden-lewis-point-sidwell-friends?page=3

Academy and Cam Ward are musts 🙏🏼 Both Team Durant players and we just hired a Team Takeover guy as our top recruiting assistant - I wouldn't get your hopes up.

Serious question, at the risk of sounding like an idiot . . .
Why is it possible for guys from different AAU teams to coexist on the same HS team, but such an obstacle to getting them to the same college team?
