In their combined second games v Nova and ‘Quette, SHU and GU went a combined 4-0. Now we play SHU Thursday night at 9:30 at MSG. Dang... that is going to be one intense game. So wish I could be in NYC for it, but I’ll be glued to my TV!
Patrick has this team playing exciting basketball and on an upward trajectory!
MSG is Patrick's house. Will be interesting to see if alot of neutral New York Knicks fans show up to support the Hoyas. I doubt it. It's been a long, long time since Patrick played for the Knicks.

I think after St John’s we’d be the team to get the neutral support in the building given Ewing and Hoya nostalgia coupled with Villanova fatigue.

If all the Knicks fans banned from Knicks games by James Dolan for heckling him still want to watch basketball at the Garden, the BET may be SRO!

This is the one loss and done season. I hope this is enough incentive for the Hoyas to go wild and win as many as possible, even if it means going nine in a row. GO HOYAS!!!

Hey, just to make things clear: for the Big East tourney, we are seeded 6th for bracket reasons. However, with our 9-9 record, we finished third, tied for third in the BE standings. Not bad after being picked 9th and 10th. Also, with Marquette’s late season swoon, Big Pat might have a shot at a BE coach of the year Willard. Of course, I'm often wrong.

1981. The poll was just a Top 20 at that time. Fun anomalous historical fact from the ‘81 tournament (which of course DFW knows but others might not). Syracuse won that tournament in the Carrier Dome in triple OT/beat Nova (I think)/huge win for them/players carried off court by fans had yada yada. And the next day HOYAS get a bid to tourney and the Orangemen get squadoosh (because conference had not yet completed two years of play the Big East did not get an automatic bid). The howls from upstate were delicious... I remember this very well. The (correct) consensus was that Syracuse won the BET only because they got to play at home. That team had no business playing in the NCAA Tournament, and the right decision was made.

I have been trying to get to the big east tourney my entire life. I have had two train tickets cancelled because of snow and two trips cancelled because of work. I will be there this time and I can not WAIT! I have a one way train ticket and I hope I am not coming back until Sunday morning. HOYA SAXA!

SHU lost a lot of firepower to graduation so the odds were with Willard until the Hoyas wins over Nova and Marquette. I think Ewing has a good chance since he was forced to start three freshmen the majority of the year. Would have been nice if the award would have been given on Thursday or Friday so that the game Wednesday night could have been taken into consideration.

At the moment, it looks like Thursday night is the hottest ticket. I only see three unsold seats on Ticketmaster. There are a small number left for Saturday, a few more available for Friday night, and a decent amount left for Thursday afternoon and Wednesday night. My hope is that it was Georgetown fans who snapped up the tickets for our session Thursday night. We'll find out soon enough, I guess.

Very excited.
Long, long time fan of the team and this is my first BET. I’ve been saving hotel points since 2014 for this one.
Go Hoyas!

And for those of you where this is a first time BET, welcome to the fun. It's a great tournament, and will be even better when we win.

I think Nova has a pretty easy path (relative to how they match up with the teams on the top half of the draw), but if you had to pick the most likely team to take them down among PC/Butler and Xavier/Creighton what’s the prevailing thought?
I know Xavier was the only one of that group to beat them this year but I think I’d say Creighton and maybe even PC if they advance.
I really hope I’m wrong, but I don’t see much resistance for them until Saturday, which is annoying given this year’s team was not worthy of a regular season or tournament title in any other year of this conference.

I lean Xavier because I think they can beat them up down low and Marshall has kind of taken the Aplha role. Nova is able to deal with the 5 out look Creighton throws since they basically run 5-out themselves. I really can't see Providence keeping up offensively and Nova had little problem with Butler both games.
