The 40th annual tournament, and the 37th where it belongs.
And away we go...

...and another tournament without our "friends" from Eastern Lower Canada Community College and the University of Storrs. Hope they enjoy their time in Charlotte and Memphis, respectively.

If I had a choice, give me Creighton over Xavier. We know how our team seems to struggle after emotional wins ....I see us getting up for Creighton though as they were the only team to have swept us.

Just back to hotel after the game. Sorry if I missed this but could someone post the possibilities re seeding / opponent based on the remaining two games?

If we can avoid Kutcher and Marshall doing our game we are set.

Those charts are zero help to me.
I think I want the toughest game on paper, which is Seton Hall.

Well it’s clear we want Xavier to win now.
If you want SH then root for Creighton. If you want Xavier root for DePaul.
Interesting development is that if SJ does lose and falls to 7, assuming they beat Butler, they’d play Marquette who they handled twice. If they won and if we were in the 3/6 vs SH, we could potentially avoid Marquette or Nova until the finals.
A path of SH and SJ to a final doesn’t sound awful.

If the winners are St. John's and DePaul, we are the 5 and we play Seton Hall If the winners are Xavier and DePaul, we are the 4 and we play Xavier If the winners are St. John's and Creighton, we are the 6 and we play St. John's If the winners are Xavier and Creighton, we are the 6 and we play Seton Hall

Perhaps a research topic for DFW - has there ever been a BE tournament where no teams were ranked in the Top 25?

So two possibilities remain:
4 seed vs Xavier at 2:30 if DePaul wins
OR
6 seed vs SH at 9:30 if Creighton wins

Slight preference for the 930 game for logistics purposes and to allow us to enjoy 5 BET games before the stress starts. Although that is also how I felt about the 2011 VCU NCAA game that was the very last of the first round, but that didn’t turn out so well.

I think I’m leaning towards playing Seton Hall. Xavier looked very physical without Marshall.
Plus I think the bottom half of the bracket MU/SJ winner is better than playing Nova just based on them having a coach and two seniors who have handled the MSG stage before.

Seton Hall manhandled us in our first meeting and we needed double OT to take them down the second time. I want nothing to do with Powell in March. Gimme Xavier and Steele 100x over.

I don’t disagree. I don’t think there’s a big difference, and for a single game would take Xavier too. I just think in terms of a path to Saturday the 3/6 draw may open up more for us than the 4/5.
