Derrickson cannot dunk. Even when wide open.
He can dunk but agree, not much lift/doesnt use it.

Listless and generally awful performance.

The problem is even when we are in good rebounding position, someone simply reaches around our players for the ball, or in the last example, Derrickson went up for a rebound, and by that I mean casually reached up for it rather than jumping and a 6'4" player just grabbed it out of his hands from behind. Its a weakness, which means we need to be much more aggressive than we have to make up for it.

I disagree about Pickett. He's a freshmen and making mistakes by being overly agressive and taking and missing open shots he should be taking, or sometimes getting too ahead of himself on fast breaks. Its why we scheduled these games to allow some of these players to get in a groove (good or bad). He needs to be more careful and slow down and eliminate TOs sometimes .Hoping his threes fall soon. I can live with that during these nonconference games.
Otherwise he has 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks and a steal. Whittingesque, although needs to work on awareness.

We look like absolute Poo. Pickett in particular has been underwhelming tonight. Tonight he has played the single worst game by a Hoya this year. It's very disappointing.

Maine has been controlling the pace since about 6 minutes in the 1st. Hoyas need to control it.

Has Derrickson ever dunked? I can't recall seeing him dunk...... Derrickson hasn't dunked much since the knee injury a summer ago in Kenner League when he stepped on a ball. This summer at Kenner he dunked a couple times in wide open break aways. I know he dunked his freshman year, but I don't remember him dunking last year nor this (short) year.

We have a long way to go defensively. Guards beat consistently and no help.

Mosley and his missed dunks... bad habits I don't think I've ever seen him finish those rim rattling attempts. But he gets close everytime.

I'd have no problem replacing Pickett in the starting lineup with Blair.
That sounds a little reactionary based on their games tonight, but it's just that Kaleb and Pickett are both 3s. I'd rather have 2 guards out there a majority of the time.
Before the year, I'd have thought Pickett and Mosely would be the 3 and 2, but through 5 games I've seen enough from Kaleb (poise, overall improvement) and Blair (scoring mentality) to go with them.
I'm not sure I can vouch for Blair's defense at this point, but it can't be any worse than watching Jamorko try to cover quick guards.

Keleb's free throw stroke is pure, his transformation is amazing.
