Another bad job coaching. Or someone didn't listen. Hard to say which one. Your very funny did you see Copeland blow the clear assignment. but your not alone many here will blame it on the coach. Nothing funny about it. Cant have that kind of mistake, regardless of whether someone blew it mentally or JTIII directed it. Pretty sure it was Kaleb btw, although Copeland looked out of position as well.

I wouldn't bother trying to figure out who's assignment it was, I'm guessing the players don't know either.

Did we go zone press on the last possession? Is that what happened? Why Williams was in the game earlier, I just don't know. But the game was lost on D. We just can't defend anyone. I think k we found out what happens if we don't foul....we give up uncontested layup after uncontested layup. Man, zone press, 1-3-1, 2-3. We even tried an old school run and jump. Boy, the O looked great too. I loved DSR actually playing the role of the typical five in some of those sets. Never seen that one before and it worked pretty well. Jesse missed approximately 145 wide open cutters tonight. I didn't see the whole game, but the O did look better and hopefully, Jesse makes those passes next year. Im trying to cling to something. I want to punch a wall. Not sure why it even matters, tho. I pretty much have no interest in watching the NIT, and Im not sure Im going to be picky about what team we get crushed by in the BET. I guess this game gives me some hope we can beat DePaul tho! Yippee.

At least this time JTIII drew the play up to give it to Ike and the hail marry shot almost went in. Please - how hard a play is that? "Ok guys we have 1 second left, let's go for the hail mary because they will be thinking we'll try for the full length of court dribble and lay-up." Against Butler last game that same play was given to Tre Campbell who subsequently had his shot blocked at half court. So with that said at least JTIII has learned a lesson from game to game. Not a big improvement, but it is an improvement.

When guys play hard and execute (finally for Ike) it can be pretty good. Too bad our defense did us in again. Really how can anyone blame the defensive woes on III anymore? The team simply sucks at defense. My biggest issue with III tonight was having Williams in there for that next to last offensive possession.

How do you not cover a 6-10 guy running up the floor is the first question ? The second is if you are not guarding the inbound pass how does the middle of the floor get that wide open ?

Can someone explain Williams playing so much tonight? No one was in foul trouble. Airball on three early and worst time to foul at the end?

Was Govan under the basket protecting the paint? If no, where was he? I did not DVR it and I cannot rewind.

Defensively, same old issues.

I didn't see the game. What was with Riyan's foul with us up by one?

I didn't see the game. What was with Riyan's foul with us up by one? If he doesnt foul, it's probably a fast break bucket. It was a long rebound off a jumper. I think thats the play you were referring to.

I just re watched. Definitely was a 1-2-2 there. Trying to confuse them and get a quick trap ideally. So it wasn't anyone's man. It definitely wasn't Ike's job to follow Fischer there. Ike did his job. Forced the dribbler toward the trap.
Probably Riyan's job to take away the cutter first but that was tough for him. DSR had to foul. Fisher appeared to be moving away from the basket only because DSR pushed him away.
Wow. We actually do something very creative on D and it bites us. Typical this year. Of course, he probably would have blown by the straight M2M anyway.
Incredible. Just incredible.

I didn't see the game. What was with Riyan's foul with us up by one? Long rebound off of Derrickson missed 3 he pushed the Marquette guy trying to get the loose ball. Bad play.

Was Govan under the basket protecting the paint? If no, where was he? I did not DVR it and I cannot rewind. No, Govan wasn't in game. My point is he should have been in, not Riyan.

I didn't see the game. What was with Riyan's foul with us up by one? Riyan was trying to get the offensive rebound and fouled the Marquette guy, it looked like it could have been a break away basket the other way.
