Does anyone ever ask the coach about the effort of the guys. How we always look like we are sleeping. How we never get to the line. How our offense hasn't looked good in a while (Monroe I think. Maybe Simms senior year. Maybe)
I mean a lot of folks think the offense stinks. But does he ever get asked about it?

Next question: is there anyone left on this board that doesn't think this team universally sucks? Anyone out there that still sees some positives? Anyone that can give me a reason to hope that if I go to the Villanova game I won't be walking out of there enduring those awful sympathetic glances from the god awful nova fans thinking geez sorry your team has gotten so bad. If I do go, I'll be the one with the paper bag on his head. Don't go to that game. It's probably their senior day, too, right? They will be in the running for a 1 seed. That could be really ugly.

Watching this Hoya team and hoping the other team won't live at the free throw line is like watching the Lion King and hoping Mufasa won't die.

It's amazing to me that the so called majority of this board is so far out of touch with reality. Forest through the trees. They'll criticize individual possessions but never the overall product. It's actually sad and a bit disturbing if you want this program to move to a better place.

I agree they have just been toying with us all year. There going to turn it on at MSG and run the table. Ya ok.... Luckily we will get Depaul or St. John's on Wednesday, so we should not have to head back to DC until Friday morning. Be careful what you predict. You forget in 2014 we embarrassed the program losing to DePaul, and in 2009 we embarrassed the program losing to St. John's. As hard as it is to believe, I think this team loses to Xavier, Butler, a horrible Marquette team and Villanova to finish 7-11 and in 8th place. We'd then face a DePaul team that we didn't exactly overpower in our 2 performances against them this year. For everyone on this talk board that have wanted head's to roll after disappointing losses to Davidson, Ohio, VCU, NC State, Florida Gulf Coast, etc...... at least we were playing basketball in March. This team is very possibly heading to a 14-18 season record. People discuss "rock bottom" or "ground 0". That is almost unbelievable to fathom, but sadly a realistic possibility with this basketball team.

Too painful and maybe take your wife to a nice dinner with proceeds. Would be better spent than seeing that debacle.

Every other team goes to the free line twice as often. This discrepancy it is why our offense is terrible. DSR had 6 contested shot (0-6) while the SH point guar when to the free throw three consecutive times. Either our style of basketball change or JT III has to go. This is an embarrassment. You can see that DSR and Ike are completely disinterested during the game. I agree that something has to change. I don't think that the offense has to change I just think that to commitment to the offense has to change. Players can make the pass to execute the offense I think. Plenty of open looks and mis-matches that go overlooked. Copeland is 6-10. If he is not having access on the perimeter get him some look down low. The defense. Need to get someone in here to teach defense. Team cant play a simple zone anymore. Do you remember , Henry, Hollis, Whittington, Clark, Otto played zone Defense. Shutdown city, Cant put my finger on what needs to change because JTII has had success with previous teams on offense and defense. Maybe he doesn't have a good staff.

Optimism and realism are not mutually exclusive..... Normally I'd agree, but in the case of this team, I have to believe that they are. If I had no hope, I wouldn't watch. I watch, therefore I hope. As a 55 year old Red Sox fan, I know what it's like to feel the pain. But I also know the indescribable elation of making it through to the other side. Sometimes hope and faith is all you got. But the light stays on. ....

Same old issues.
We simply can't move our feet on defense. We are an abysmal passing team...maybe the worst I've ever seen in a team I have followed. (I think that deficiency gets underrated.)
And when we don't shoot the three well, we just won't win. DSR played a crappy game. He forced shots he shouldn't take. And he missed those two wide open threes -- either of which would have made this a game.
I really wish Jesse would have simply shot it when he got it at the elbow. There were tons of times he was wide open from there and ran the set further instead.
The whole key offensively is that aside from LJ, we have no one on the entire roster that can beat their man off the dribble. Marcus is incredibly slow with the ball, as is Reggie. Tre cant, though im not sure why. Ike cant even really maintain a dribble while making a move. I know DSR can, but never cleanly and it always results in a high degree of difficulty shot. We tried to get into the lane and draw fouls constantly. Like every possession. But even with screens, we can't beat anyone. So if we don't hit threes (and without a consistent low pass threat or the ability to pass to one), there is nothing left.

LJ. Maybe Jessie at times. Nobody else can take it inside and score. So we either jack it up or use an offense with screens and cuts.

I think some on this board think it's the personnel and others think it's those that brought them here. Some may think it's not properly developing the personnel when they got here as a third option. Can't do polls but would be a good one.

Not wanting to fire the coach because of that reality doesn't mean I don't want the program to be better.
